What is a Tundra?
Tundra is a biome, and the coldest biome compared to other biomes in the world. The tundra is named after the Finnish word Tunturi, which means treeless plain. There are two types of tundras, alpine and arctic tundras.
Location&Climate
The whereabouts of a Tundra are easy to find since it is the coldest so the tundra is found up north and down south. For example, Russia, Canada, Greenland, Antarctica, Finland, etc.
In the winter the tundra can be as cold as -59°C and in the summer it can be 0-10°C. Therefore, it is very difficult to survive there. Plants and animals that live there are unique but cannot live in the tropical regions since the temperature and the environment are very different.
