It was a spring afternoon after school. I was ready to head to my house and start working on the game that my friends and I are working on for 50% of our coding class. I, Luke Mccann, am coding a video game on a VR headset with my friends Usman Powell and Andy Braxan. We have been working on the game for about a week now, and we have a major issue. The game is bugged, so the last 5 levels are a little hard to create because we need to beat the levels for their info to see what is and isn't working, but we only have about a week left to publish the game for a grade, but getting there will be a challenge. We have a lot to do in one week, so let's see how it goes.
We went over to my house after school ended and learned that the due date is only a week away, and we were stressed. Not just because it is 50% of our grade, but it is like halfway finished.
“Oh god, what are we going to do?” Usman was asking in a worried voice. “We only have a week left to finish the game before the year ends, and we can publish it because the last 5 levels are too hard!”
“Don’t worry, we’ll figure it out when we need to,” I said, trying to comfort Usman from having a stress attack.
“But we don’t have time to figure it out, we need to finish the last 5 levels or our grade is over.” Andy was saying, in a hurried way.
This is going to be a stressful week, so we started by hopping into the game and started to progress a little in the final levels, but only a little. This was going to take way too long to complete in 5 days. We got to the final boss of the 6th level.
“Hey Usman, I’m going to need you to help me out here!” I yelled over at Usman, who was grinding minions for better gear. This was a bad time to ask for time, but I

still need at least a portion of regeneration to have enough health to beat the boss.
“I can only throw you a potion of regen, so I hope it helps!” Usman howled, chucking a small flask of a green liquid with the word ‘regeneration’ on a piece of tape on the flask.
I grabbed the potion and immediately drank it. I beat the boss and got a lot of items and exp. I leveled up 4 levels and got a better tool to beat future bosses. I gave the rest to Usman, but we found a glitch at the wrong time and all that stuff vanished. We were very upset until it all came back.
“Try not to lose all of your stuff again, please. The code is already long enough.” Andy told us while putting our stuff back from code.
We went back over to the real world and went to bed after a long and painful Friday. Tomorrow, we will work on the game all day and try to beat the last and final
levels to get at least a decent grade before the school year ends. There is a little problem though, and that is the fact that the game has many, many bugs, and like what just happened, you could lose all of your progress and restart. That can happen on a normal playthrough, so we will fix it after we see what happens when we finish the game to publish it.
I woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing. I got dressed and got to the door. It was Usman and Andy, ready to work all day on the game.
“ You ready to finish this game? I sure am.” Andy exclaimed, with a small smile on his face. We went into my garage and set up the game and coding. Usman and I hopped in and see if our progress save. It did. It was like a miracle that this saved because it rarely happened.

“ We finally got enough gear at a high enough level to finish the boss and beat the game!” I exclaimed, excited that we were almost done and I can finally get 8 hours of sleep each night.
“We still have the last boss of the game to beat, so don’t get too cocky now with our high gear,” Usman reminded me, “ This could go very wrong.” He was right. If we mess up here, who knows what will happen a the end of the year. We can’t afford to mess up here.
“Hey guys,” Andy yelled, trying to warn us, “there is a really big bug that is heading towards you!” We let our eyes fall upon that glitch that is making all of these bugs happen. It was terrifying. We couldn’t pluck up the courage to even move our eyelids.
“Uhh, a little help Andy!” I squeak, finally getting our lives back together and looking at the huge threat that we were encountering. There was silence. Me and Usman were worried about Andy.
“Sorry about that, I fell asleep for a little while and was dreaming of not doing this class, let alone the project.” Andy mentioned. This wasn’t very helpful, considering the circumstances, but it was fine. And besides, it made Usman snap out of the tranz of the glitch. We pulled out our tools to battle this tromendues beast of a glitch. Andy spawned in healing stations to help with our HP (Health Points). Usman launched the first attack, and I followed after.
“Do you think we can beat this monster, Andy!?” I called out, “this monster is so big, I can barley see where Usman went!”
“Pretty sure he is inside of the glitch, attacking its core. Smart move. You should
