It was a hot day on the plains. The animals
were trying to take refuge from the heat. The
lions were under an umbrella tree, lazily watching
the social gatherings at the waterhole.
Shelly was the most beautiful zebra in all of
Africa. She had icy blue eyes. Her hooves shined in
the sunlight when she ran across the plains. Even
her black and white stripes and her luscious black
mane were well know all around Africa. Almost
every animal admired her. Shelly was very popular.
She even had friends from almost every species.

She usually hung around the water hole with
her friends gathered around her almost every day.
She would bathe and talk with her friends for
most of her day. She would normally go home
around dusk. That’s when her mother usually called
for her to come home.

The beautiful zebra had many admirers.
One in particular was Leo the lion. He was a
young and handsome lion. He had a beautiful
mane that glistened in the sunlight. His claws
were perfectly sharp and could tear through
anything. Even his teeth were perfectly white.
All the lionesses liked him. He would hangout
at the waterhole with his friends and admire
the beautiful zebra. His friends Mika the lioness
and Mushu the giraffe tried time and time
again to warn him about the zebras
personality. But Leo wouldn’t listen. He was
too infatuated by the zebras beauty.

One day, Leo finally had the courage to talk
to the zebra. At first Shelly was surprised that a
lion, her natural predator, had feelings for her.
She decided that this could be an advantage for
her. The two animals went out a few times. Then
Shelly started asking Leo to do things for her.
Without question her favors, he did whatever the
zebra wanted.
