Hi! You must be new here. Let me introduce myself- my name is Alex. This is my second time going through radiation therapy. I wanted to welcome you to the Center and tell you all about what radiation will be like. 

Radiation sounds scary, but don't worry... you don't see, feel, or hear the beams. It's only scary for those cancer cells!

After you've met your team, here's what happens next....

We start out with a CAT scan.

It looks like a giant donut machine

The name is really misleading, 

There's no cats to be seen

The CAT scan will take pictures

Of where the cancer grows.

This is important for radiation, 

So the beam knows where it goes

We'll have a mask or mold made

So we stay in the same place.

These will be used everyday

When we blast off into space

It takes a little while

To get the plan just right. 

Pretty soon we will start

The cancer vs radiation fight

The treatment machine is really cool-

It's like a giant space machine.
