Chapter 1: Introduction
When the detective was at the missing boy’s house his mother with the name of Heather told the detective what had happened. Heather said with tears in her eyes,“Carter was going to play in the backyard with his little blue blanket, then I heard him screaming ‘Help! Help!’ When I went to check up on him, he was gone.” The detective believed her at first, but then she had this suspicious look on her face. ‘She had to have had something to do with this supposed kidnapping.’ Thought the detective. “Did you see where the kidnapper went?” Asked the detective. “He went down the road towards main street.” Heather said with tears in her eyes.
Chapter 2: The Talk

The detective went the direction that Heather said the kidnapper went. Then about ½ a mile down the road the detective found little footprints that seemed like the perfect size for a small 2nd grader which linked back to Carter. The detective followed the footprints for over 1 mile. Still nothing until about 10 feet farther the detective found a little blue shoe and he put it into an evidence bag. Then a bit farther away he found the same blue shoe. ‘So the supposed kidnapper let Carter go then Carter lost both of his shoes while walking. The footprints went on.
Chapter 3: The Search (Part 1)

After about a mile or so the footprints lead to a bloody, muddy, ripped blue blanket that looked as if it was the one that Carter’s mom described. The detective put the blanket into an evidence bag. There was blood heading the same direction as the footprints. ‘Carter, when he was let go, he probably cut himself on a branch while walking and that’s where he lost his blanket.’ The detective thought. The blood and footprints went for what looked like a lot farther.
