When I was 5 years old I got Dengue. My mother was very worried about me because I was getting worse and worse. She decided to take me to a hospital in Cucuta. What my mother did not know is that she would have to hospitalize me.

Don't worry, you'll get better soon!

When we got to the hospital the nurses treated me and gave me an injection. I hated injections but I had to be strong.
That day they told my mother that it was best to hospitalize me because my platelets were very low..

You have to be strong! Do you see that baby? he was able to withstand the injection.

It hurts me a lot!
My hospitalization began. I was hospitalizated along with other patients with dengue or more serious ilnesses such as cancer.

Since I had dengue, I had to stay still and rest almost all the time.I was bored but I didn't have the strenght to do anything.
My family brought me a children's book about princesses to draw and read. That was good because I always liked to color and draw.

I remember that one of my parents had to stay by my side.
They bathed me and changed my clothes for that I wouldn't move much, because my platelets were getting lower and lower. Some days my platelets went up and other days my platelets went down

I remember the hospital food. Many people think and says that hospital food is horrible. But it tasted good. The plates were big and everything was separated; the salad, the rice, the lentils, the chicken, the fried plantains.

Please, Eat everything! you need to recover properly!
I love this food!

My mom decided to give me red and gren juices to acquire more defenses against dengue. I didn't like those juices, but its improved my health.

You can do it! Take this juice and you will recover!
Mom, I can't! It tastes horrible!
Do not give up! Do you want to be here all your life?
