Once upon a time there was a girl. Her real 

name was Anya but her friends called her 

Annie. Tomorrow is her first day of junior year 

of high school and she is very nervous of what 

people will think of her. She is only 16 and she 

has had a hard life that no other teenage kid 

would understand. As a child she has lost her 

parents and all of her very close friend she has 

ever had besides two.

"Beep Beep Beep" the sound of her alarm 

pounding in her ears. Its that day already. She 

gets out of bed gets dressed and walks out the 

door. 

She shows up 

at school meets 

up with her two 

best friends like 

the usual. Leo 

And Natty. 

They all have 

been so close 

since diapers 

until this year 

when it all 

began to 

change..

As the bell rang Annie walked in to first period. 

She had a very confused and lost look on her 

face because she realized she don't have any 

friends in that class. She walked straight to the 

back of the room and sat in the corner alone.

The teacher Miss. T asked "Did everyone have 

a great summer?" Everyone answered back 

with excitement and Annie just sat in the back 

quietly until Miss. T called her out and asked 

her. She replayed back "No, I said wishing 

very much that I hadn't been so foolish... 

(Zevin 8). 

Everyone was now confused in the class asking 

and wondering what happened. Next thing you 

know is the bell rang. "Everyone have a Great 

first day back, see you tomorrow" said Miss. T. 

When Annie tried to pass Miss.T grabbed her. 

"Whats going on Annie?" said Miss.T. "Nothing" 

said Annie. "You see I went to collage with your 

mother we weren't friends but I often saw her 

on campus and I'd hate to see you end up like 

her" (Zevin 119). "Just leave me alone you 

don't understand" said Annie as she walked out 

of the room.
