for people who can't forget their past

THE HEROINE
PATRICIA HIGHSMITH
She was sure that she could work in the Westchester mansion, she was 21 years old and although it was not her first job, she applied to be a nurse.

She was interviewed by the gentlemen of the house, as they wanted to know if they had worked in child care before, but her enthusiasm was enough to convince them, she was soon in her new white uniform
She thought of leaving her past behind, leaving the thoughts that tormented her and begin a new life in a faraway place and this opportunity was at the Christiansen's house.

She looked out over the garden and the lawn that stretched between the servants' house and the big house. The garden was longer than it was wide with a fountain in the center. The Christiansen house was friendly and alive!
Mrs. Christiansen took her to the nursery where the children 'Nicky, age nine, and Heloise, age six, were sleeping, and introduced them to their new nurse Lucille. She thought that everything was perfect and beautiful in that house.
Lucille began to like the children and to them, she was very nice even more than her previous nurse. They shared lunch and it was a big release for Lucille because the children liked her.
Lucille sadly remembered things from her past and her experiences as a domestic worker, she also wanted to forget her mother who had died three weeks ago, she said she looked like her and not only physically but also in her sickness, her madness did not recover
