It was Halloween night and Alana was trick or treating. She was finally old enough to trick or treat by herself. Her mother told her to make sure she headed home when the sun started to set.

She was so caught up in trick or treating that she did not notice the sun had set. She looked around and noticed it was almost completely dark outside. People turned out their porch lights and trick or treating was over.

Alana started to head home but she realized she did not know where she was. She looked around at the houses but nothing looked familiar. She didn't know how she lost her way.

She started running to try to find a familiar street. She ran so hard and so fast that she ran right up a pathway into a haunted house.

She ran faster and faster to try to get out of the house but she got stuck in a haunted maze. There were zombies and goblins. Hands were reaching out to grab her as she hurried past them. She was running so hard she thought her heart might burst.
