Secondary Consumer - carnivores that eat primary consumers

Scavenger - animals that eat dead animals

Detritivores - organisms that break down dead tissue and waste products

Decomposers - fungi and bacteria that completely breakdown wastes and dead tissue

Herbivore - animals that eat plants

Omnivore - animals that eat plants and meat

My name is Sunny. I give my producer friends 10,000 energy points whenever we hang out.

My consumer friends are grassy Gabe and Alicia the acacia tree. They can make their own food, so they give 1,000 energy points to the Primary Consumers when they are eaten.

The Primary Consumers, George the giraffe and Harry the hare, eat Alicia and Gary when they are hungry to get more energy. They are herbivores.

George and Harry must be careful because Leo the lion will eat them when he is hungry. If he does eat one of them, he will get 1,000 energy points.

One day, a very hungry Leo comes across Harry. Leo was was so hungry that he ate Harry, but that gave him enough energy to run around and have fun. Leo is a carnivore, so he only eats meat.

Oscar the ostrich is a primary consumer, but unlike Gary the giraffe and and Harry the hare who are both herbivores, Oscar is a omnivore. He eat both meat and producers.
