I dedicate this book to my future self. I hope this type of story comes true for her.

There was once a young woman named Nina who had just graduated from college. With no job offers, she enjoyed what felt like her last taste of success.

"Smile Nina!"

Nina moved back home with her parents after college. While they welcomed her back with open arms, Nina's parents still wanted her to find a way to make an income. Nina agreed that she would have a go at job searching.

I wonder if those internships are still open... Let me send an email.
After moving all her stuff back in and reuniting with her beloved dog, Nina starts thinking about what jobs she could apply for. Her heart told her that she should apply for the Journalism internship that she saw before graduation. At that time, she felt unqualified to apply, but now that she's desparate...

Hello,
My name is Nina, and I am a recent graduate student from the Journalism college at the University of Florida. I understand that the internship openings for writers have already been closed, but is there any other areas where you are in need of an intern. If so, I have attached my resume and would love to be a part of your great team.
Best Regards,
Nina Vega

"I can't believe they said yes..."
They said there was an opening for an assistant position! Although it was not the ideal job, Nina accepted the position immediately. She is now an employee at the Tampa Bay Times, which is a unbelievable concept for Nina to wrap her head around.

After getting checked in, Nina meets her boss Janet, who will be showing her around for the day and explaining Nina's daily duties.

1. bring coffee every morning to Janet. Starbucks, Iced vanilla latte with lite ice and oat milk.
2. type up transcipts for Janet's videos at least 24 hours after they have been uploaded.
3. Journalism is about getting the objective truth. Avoid the single story!
4.Interview like your having a conversation.
5. Ask consent to before recording.
6. don't be late...
At the end of the day, Nina had reviewed the notes she took in her notebook. She made sure to note both the important details of her job, as well as the details of her boss's position -- which was a Video Journalist.

After a month on the job, Janet informs Nina that one of her colleages is out sick and that she needed someone to fill in for them today. Nina jumped at the opportunity.
