Have you ever heard a song that sounds just like another one you love? The adaptation right under the Copyright Act allows artists to sample copyrighted work with the creator's permission, and a creator is always protected if they do not get notified of their work being adapted.

Hi! My name is Publication Polly! I make sure that creators can distribute copies of their work through public sale, transfer of ownership, rental, lease, or lending.

When a piece of work is created, like a book, it needs to be published to give proper credit to the author. Once it is published, it can be sold and distributed.
