I dedicate this story to my bird named Cherry who flew away. But I will always remember her from this book.

On a hot day in Australia, a baby parakeet was born in an Acacia Tree.

The parents exclaimed, “My golly! That is a very green bird!” If only the parakeet parents knew that this baby bird would someday save their tribe from extinction.

As Cherry grew up, she was different from the others. She learned how to fly by jumping off a cliff while the others trembled in fear.

When she drank water at the Oasis, she talked to the Saltwater Crocodile while the others fled.
They all thought she was too bold.
Three years later, the rival bird group came to the elder birds.
“You will get the three legendary seeds,” they demanded, “or else we’ll capture you all!”
No one wanted to volunteer for this dangerous mission except for one strange bird named Cherry.
She asked The Elders for directions. "It is a dangerous mission," they warned. Her dad was one of the elders and begged her not to go.
“I must do this,” she insisted.
Her dad sadly passed the map to her with drops of water filling his eyes.
Cherry packed it in a pouch under her wings.

Her first stop was Bunny Island, off the coast of Tokyo, Japan. She landed to a greeting of rabbits.
“Scram!” they yelled.
Only one rabbit accepted her: Ace. He searched with her through piles of rabbit poop (it's kind of disgusting, I know!).
They found the seed and friendship.

The next stop was a remote island that only animals and ancient humans knew about. As Cherry flew over the island off the coast of South America, she noticed a Spider Monkey being bullied by a gang of Howler monkeys who were mad because they thought the Spider monkey stole all of their bananas.

Cherry decided to help the Spider Monkey with his problem: “I’ll find the bananas for you!”
Because she was in the air, she spied a baboon with bananas. Cherry told him who the bananas belonged to, and he returned the bananas to the Howler monkeys.
“I’m so sorry. I had no idea these were yours,” the baboon apologized.
The Spider Monkey was freed from accusation and owed gratitude to Cherry. He asked, “Can I help YOU with anything?"
Cherry told him about her quest for the three legendary seeds.
"I know where one is!" he exclaimed.
He showed her where the seed was in a temple. She flew to the top and found both the second seed and another map to the USA.

When Cherry was flying into North America,
she got tangled in some vines.
