in the weather we have. These changes
mark the changing of the seasons.

summer, and autumn. Let's learn more
about them!

The first season we will talk about is winter.
Winter starts in the middle of December and
ends in the middle of March. The first day of
winter is called the winter solstice.

In winter, the temperature drops and
can become very cold. The main form
of precipitation is usually snow.

A lot of people build snowmen in the
winter or have snowball fights. You
can also go sledding, skiing,
snowboarding, or snowmobiling.

Some holidays during the winter season
are Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa,
New Year's, Valentine's Day, and St.
Patrick's Day.

The season following winter is spring.
Spring starts in the middle of March
and goes until the middle of June. The
first day of spring is called the spring
equinox.

In spring, the temperature begins to
warm from the cold of the winter. The
main form of precipitation is usually
rain or thunderstorms, but there can
still be some snow showers.

People love to get outside and enjoy the
warmer weather when spring comes
around. They often go for walks, runs,
or bike rides.

Some spring holidays include Easter,
Earth Day, Mother's Day, Memorial
Day, and Father's Day.

After spring comes summer. Summer
begins in the middle of June and ends
in the middle of September. The first
day of summer is called the summer
solstice.

In summer, the temperature gets even
warmer than it is in spring. Like spring,
summer usually has rain and
thunderstorms.

Many people spend a lot of time
outdoors in the summer. They go
camping, go on hikes, and go fishing.

Some summer holidays include The
Fourth of July and Labor Day.
