Chess Board

Chess is a game playing on a square board with 2 players, players move their pieces in turn. There are 64 squares on the board, all of them are named with their row and column such as "h4" or "g3". There are 32 white and 32 black squares on the board, each square is the same color as on its diognal. Pieces are moving on those squares. If a piece goes on a square where a enemy piece on it, it takes the enemy piece.
Game Pieces

There are 6 different pieces in the game: King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook and Pawn. Game starts with 8 pawns, 2 rooks, 2 bihops, 2 knights, 1 queen and 1 king at each side. every piece has a number of points.
Every piece has its own movements and some of them has specialities. At the begining of the game, both players has same ammount of pieces, but the colors are white and black. One player plays white pieces and one player plays black pieces. The player who plays white starts the game.
King

King is the main piece of the game. Players need to protect their king and take the other players king in order to win. Every player have only 1 king and Kings can't move next to each other. King can move straight and cross but only 1 square at the turn. If a king is being threated with capturing, its called check, player have to remove the threat. If its not possible its being checkmate and game ends by win. The points of king is infinite.

Queen

Queen is the strongest piece in the game. Queen can go straight and cross as many squares as player wants but it can't go over the other pieces, we can think it like Queen= bishop+rook. Every player has only 1 Queen at the begining of the game. Queen has 9 points, its the second piece with the most points.
Rook
Rook is one of the most powerfull pieces in the game. Rook can go only straight lines: right, left, back or forward as many squares as player wants but it can't go over the pieces. Rook is a part of a special move named "castling" (page 13). Rook has 5 points. At the begining of the game, each player starts with 2 Rooks. It is possible that checkmate with one rook and king.

Bishop

Bishop is a piece can move only diagonals as many squares as player wants but it can't go over the pieces. Bishop is a strong piece however its not possible to make checkmate with only one bishop and king so its weaker than rook. At the begining of the game, both players starts with 2 bishops. Bishop has 3 points which is equal to knight.
Knight

Knight is the only piece which can pass over the pieces. Knights movement is like an "L", 2 squares straight and after 2 squares, it has to go 1 square right or left depending on the direction it came. At the begining of the game, both players starts with 2 knights. Knight has 3 points.
Pawn

Pawns are the pieces with the most amonut on the board. At the begining of the game, both players starts with 8 pawns. Pawns are the weakest pieces at the begining of the game. On their first move, they can move 2 squares forward and they can move only 1 forward square on their other movements. Pawns can't take pieces forward, they can take pieces for 1 cross square. Pawn equals to 1 point.
