When Jamie and John arrived in the desert, the first thing they did was look for cactus. They hoped to find a cactus over 78 feet tall. They set off walking in the burning hot sand. After a while John began to wish they had brought some more water. “I am glad we didn't. Those coolers were as heavy as a whale,” said Jamie. That's when John realized that they had also left the supplies and map in the car. They were lost!

John and Jamie looked around to see if there was any help but everything looked the same. “It's only going to get hotter and hotter,” said John. With no map, Jamie and John knew they were in trouble and it wouldn't be as hot. “I am,” moaned Jamie. John wanted to keep walking but Jamie knew the best thing to do was stay put.
