Emerson and Dylan are both sisters, They are going to do a project in science class about the rainforest. In their project they are writing about how some animals are dying due to deforestation. That leaves animals with no food. Emerson and Dylan decide that the best option is to head to the rainforest to help any animals that need help! They book plane tickets to the Amazon Rainforest. Then they start packing. Dylan calls out, “The average temperature in tropical rainforests ranges from 70 to 85°F (21 to 30°C).   We need to pack the essentials. Anything else you need?” asked Dylan. 

Emerson says, ¨Got it all!¨ 

¨Ok we leave tomorrow!¨ Says Dylan. Our bags are as heavy as boulders! 

When Dylan and Emerson get on the plane they take their seat and wait patiently. Their flight took almost a day. Then when they got to the rainforest they wanted to look for a sloth!

Dylan asks, ¨Where are all the plants and trees Emerson?¨ 

Emerson responds, ¨ Deforestation is happening really badly here!¨ 

Dylan says, ¨ Right, we have to help somehow!!!¨

Both the girls wondered how could they help. 
Dylan says, ¨The rainforest stretches across 5.5 million square kilometers/2.1 million square miles   How will we help the whole Amazon Rainforest? That would take longer than an eternity ¨

Emerson and Dylan start to look around and they see a family of sloths! 

Emerson says, ¨ They look EXTREAMLy hungry !!!¨ 

Dylan asks, ¨ I know, is there anything we can do? ¨

Emerson responds, ¨ Umm Yea, remember the food we packed and all the water we packed.  We can feed them right now.  Sloths are herbivores (plant eaters).    Dylan get the plants out!¨

Dylan grabs the food and water out of the bag and both girls say, 

¨here you little family go you can eat all you want!¨ When they started to eat the littlest sloth smiled and then so did the mom and the dad!

Dylan said ¨this makes me so happy!¨

Emerson said ¨ It makes me feel good when I help someone or something!¨

Dylan says ¨i wish we could help the whole sloth population!¨

Emerson says ¨ yes but that would take an eternity!¨
