Jamie and  John had planned a day trip to the desert. Jame said, ¨Don't forget to bring the snacks.¨ They knew they needed to pack a lot of water for the adventure because its hot. It can get up to 130 degrees. They were most excited to see the cacti. Finally the big day arrived! They grabbed their supplies which were as heavy as an elephant and climbed in the car.   

 When John and Jamie arrived at the desert the first thing they did was look for cacti. They hoped to see a cacti over 40-78 feet. Then they set off in the burning hot sand. After a while John began to wish they had brought a longer pair of shorts. ¨I'm glad we didn't bring those things. We would be as hot as fire,¨ said Jamie. That's when John realized that they had also left the supplies and map in the car. They were lost.    

John and Jamie looked around to see if there was help or villagers; everything looked the same and dry. ¨It's only going to get hotter and hotter, ¨ said John. With no supplies John and Jamie knew they were in trouble. They wished they had worn white because it reflects the sun so you are not hot. ¨I'm hotter than the stove,¨ moaned Jamie. John wanted to look around but Jamie knew that the best thing to do was stay put.
