To Dr. Cote,
This has been such a fun experience!

Once Upon A Time...
Among a field of rye,
Along where the river lie,
Was the beautiful land held high,
The Kingdom of Camelot

On the other side of the river below
Lays the island where the flowers grow.
Here lives a woman that none may know
The Lady of Shalott.

The reapers of the morning field say
They can hear her singing in the day.
Her song is full of cheer and gay,
But she is unknown in every other way
To the people of Camelot

In front of her mirror, she weaves her magic web with elegance.
She hears of a curse with consequence
That looking towards Camelot would lead to violence
For the Lady of Shalott

Through the mirror she can see
Shadows of people walking around free.
She see groups of ladies traveling with glee
And knights clothed in bravery
On the way to Camelot

With delight she weaves these images on her spread
But when she saw a young couple wed,
“I am sick of shadows” said
The Lady of Shalott

One day, a knight on a war horse rode
His his armor like fire glowed.
His dark curls underneath his helmet flowed,
As Sir Lancelot passed along the road
On his way to Camelot

As he rode past the river
She sees him in the mirror
And cries out “Tirra lirra” with fervor,
The Lady of Shalott

Her loom she swiftly abandoned;
Her window she quickly attended
She saw the lilies around and,
She watched as her knight descended
Down the road to Camelot

Instantly, her weave was tattered
The mirror shattered
“The curse is come upon me,” said with hazard,
The Lady of Shalott
