Once there was a duck named Demi.   Demi was a 

pretty duck with beautiful, soft brown feathers.

Demi lived in a forest by a pond.   The other ducks 

that lived there were mean to her because she was 

smaller than them and was the only one with brown 

feathers.

The other ducks wouldn't play with Demi so she was 

usually by herself.   "I wish I was just like them so they 

would play with me.   I hate how small I am and I hate 

my brown feathers!" Demi said.

A cow was walking through the forest and heard Demi 

crying.   "What's wrong, little duck?" the cow asked.   "I 

want to be just like the other ducks!" Demi said.  

"It must be your lucky day," the cow mooed.   "I am a 

magic cow.   I can make you just like the other ducks if 

you want."   Demi agreed to let the cow make her 

normal.

All of the sudden, dark clouds started to form.  

Lightning cracked across the sky and something 

started to happen to Demi.   She grew bigger...

...and bigger until finally she was just as big as the 

other ducks and had shiny, yellow feathers.   "Thank 

you, Cow!" Demi said as she waddled off to show the 

other ducks what had happened.
