Sonia Sotomayor was born in the Bronx on June 25th, 1954. Her father was a manual labor worker and her mother was a nurse.

She earned a scholarship at Princeton University and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in History

After graduating from Princeton, she would then go on to go to Yale Law School in pursuit of her Juris Doctor Degree

At 25 years old, she was hired by district attorney Robert Morgenthau

She was appointed after David Souter's retirement in 2009.

She is the first Hispanic Supreme Court Judge

She has written two memoirs about her life and her career

As a child, she said that she felt the closest to her grandmother
