Hi! My name is Milly! In my first grade class we are learning all about the seasons and how they are created. I live in upstate New York so my seasons might look different than others! Do you know what seasons are? Come along and we'll learn together!

This is what it looks like in some places during the fall. Where I live this is what it looks like, do you know why these changes happen to the trees? Come on let's find out! 

This is my friend Jake! He is going to be talking to us about why the leaves change colors in the fall!

The reason for the leaves changing colors in the fall Milly, is because they go through photosynthesis. This means the leaves stop producing chlorophyll and it makes them change into this color than fall off the branches. 

This is what it looks like in the winter! All the leaves are finally gone and now there is a bunch of snow! I just don't know why it snows in the winter, do you?

Yes, I do! It only snows in the winter because, for it to snow it has to be super cold, and the winter is cold enough! Snow is formed by little droplets in the clouds that stick and freeze together and when enough droplets form together, they start to fall. Then BAM snow

HMM?? I'm not sure why it only snows in the winter? Jake, do you?

This is what it looks like in the spring! The tree's start to get leaves back and even start to have flowers on them! Why do the tree's start to grow flowers on them in the spring?

The flowers that grow on trees in the spring are beautiful! Milly the reason when spring comes around and the days get longer and there is more sunlight and warmth, a protein called Constans is abundant and the flowers begin the blossom! 

Lastly, the season of summer is here! The weather is very hot outside, and the sun stays out the latest it will, here in NY! Why does it get so hot in the summer?
