Hello! My name is Polly, and I am a polygon, specially a rectangle. My family and friends are all polygons as well. 

Being a polygon means you have at least three straight sides and three angles. I have many polygons in my room, for example my windows are polygons! 

Although all my family and friends are polygons, my family consists of all rectangles. My friends are all triangles. 

I have always wondered what it is like to be a triangle! To know what it's like to be a triangle, we need to know what makes a triangle, a triangle. 

A triangle is a two-dimensional shape that has three sides and three angles. There are six different types of triangles! 

The six different triangles are equilateral, right, acute, isosceles, obtuse, and scalene.

Let me introduce you to all of my triangle friends! This is Chippy! He is an equilateral triangle!

An equilateral triangle is a triangle where all three sides are equal in length. Which is why the word starts with equal. 

This is my friend Allie. She is a right triangle. A right triangle is a triangle that has a right angle, which is 90 degrees. The two sides that form the right angle are perpendicular to each other. 

The word perpendicular means two lines that intersect to form a 90 degree angle, other known as a right angle.

This is my friend Shelly, who is an acute triangle. An acute triangle is a triangle that has all three angles that are acute, meaning less than 90 degrees.
