Under the sea there lived a school of yellow fish... except for Tilly, who was teal.

Being the only teal fish was hard for Tilly. She sat alone most of the time and was left out for many activities.

Catch!

She didn’t always mind the alone time; however, what gave her a hard time were Jane and Drew. Jane and Drew were the coolest fish in the school.

On her way to class, Tilly got stopped by Jane and Drew.
“Hey Tilly.” Jane said.
“Hey Jane.” Tilly said back.

Before saying anything else, Drew threw yellow paint all over Tilly.

“We thought you might need this,” they said while laughing.
Tilly tried to wipe the paint off, but she was stuck with a few yellow spots.

That day, everyone was whispering about Tilly.

Recess was usually her favorite, but when she went to the swings, all the other fish left.

So she sat there, alone, for the rest of recess.

As Tilly was leaving school, she got stuck swimming slowly behind Jane and Drew. She kept her distance and stayed hidden with the water so they wouldn’t see her.

In the distance, Tilly could see a dark shadow, but she thought nothing of it and kept swimming.

The shadow got bigger and bigger and came closer and closer.

“It’s just a boat at the surface,” Tilly said to herself, and she kept moving.

When the object got closer, Tilly stopped. It was a super sneaky shark!

She had never seen a shark before. Her mom and dad always taught her just to stand still and to not let a shark see her. Sticking to that plan, she stayed put.
