This book is dedicated to one of the largest choral events in the world - The Estonian Song Festival

Estonian song festival is one of the largest choral events in the world attracting tens of thousands of singers. It is held every five years in July on the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds (in Estonian: Lauluväljak) simultaneously with the Estonian Dance Festival. Folk choirs and orchestras perform to a massive audience of nearly a hundred thousand people.
It is a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity incorporated into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
History
The over 150 year old tradition of the song festival originates from the Estonian Age of Awakening. The first national song festival was held in Tartu in the summer of 1869. It was also the first time the musical composition called "Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm" was presented to the public, which quickly became a symbol of the Estonian National Awakening and was later officially adopted as the national anthem of Estonia.
Starting with the sixth festival in 1986, festival tradition moved to Tallinn (the capital of Estonia).
The song festival is not just a big summer event that takes place every five years, but rather a way of being that carries all the values that Estonians consider important as a nation – love for the country, language, culture, and customs, bringing people together and connecting them with their homeland.
