Everyone In the kingdom of Reli hated King Milo. He had become the new king after his father had died. He was young, sad, and did not have much experiece running a kingdom. He recieved a lot of doubt because of this.

Milo became a rude, and hateful king. How dare they judge me, and joke about me after my fathers death, he thought, I will show them.

He kept the kingdom in order under strict rules. He would have anyone who mocked him thrown in jail. No one was able to go out past a certain time. He often took others items and kept them for himself.

(Conflict Introduced)
The streets, and houses next to his castle were kept silent and lonley. This was the way he liked them to be when he took his daily walk.
One afternoon, out of boredom, he decided to take a new route. He walked along the streets farther from his castle.

He noticed these streets were more livley, and many people were out. The talking, and noise on the street slowly came to a pause, as he walked by.
He gained the attention of everybody. They would stare for a moment, and then look away in fear of being jailed.

(Rising Action)
A dog ran up to his feet, and started gowling and barking. He shouted, "Get away from me you filthy mut!" but the dog continued. He grabbed a tomato from a nearby fruit stand and tossed it at the dog.

The tomato would have hit the dog if a young child did not step in the way. The childs face was covered in red spots. "Why would you do that for a dog?" shouted Milo at the child.

"I did it because dogs should be respected" the child explained.
"Why?"
"Dogs are alive just as we are, and they have been on earth longer than any human" (Smith 237).
"And?" Milo asked confused.
"They have seen the world when it was less destroyed" (Smith 237).

"Why is that important?" Milo questioned.
"All living things share space and are part of one world, and so if you hurt the dog, you are also hurting me" the child explained further ("Aboriginal Peoples").
"Where did you learn that?"
"My mother told me to hold our tribal beliefs close to our hearts."
"Your mother sounds smart... Now take that dog away before he gets me any more annoyed" scolded Milo.

Milo continued his stroll down the busy streets. He noticed a woman with a plate of delicious-looking food.
He ordered, "Give me your food, or else you will be jailed."
The woman said cheerfully "Alright, here you go."
"While your at it, give me your book as well."
To his surprise, the woman went along with his demands willingly, and without complaining.

He quickly ate what was on the plate. As Milo was about to walk away, the woman stopped him.
She asked "Would you want to come to a party?"
Milo looked at her confused, and she said "I promise it will be fun, and there is more food there."
"Are you making fun of me?"
"Not at all"

Milo asked "Why are you inviting me to a party, after I took your food and book?"
"Why would I not?" responded the woman. "I am christian and so I believe you should love, not hate" (HISTORY.COM EDITORS).
"Even your enemies?" asked Milo.
"Yes."
"Why?" he asked, growing more curious. "There was once a man named Jesus who showed only love and affection to others, and I wish to live like him" (Knox).

"The Bible, the book you took from me, has lessons on how to live a more loving and moral life" said the woman.
"I will read some of it later" Milo responded. "There are different ways to understand the lessons taught in the book" (United Religions). "Thank you for inviting me to the party, and gifting me this book, but sadly I have to get going." Milo sighed.
