There was once a maid that lived in the kingdom of
Evida . Her name was Cinderbella. When Cinderbella
was young, her mother died of a heart attack. That
summer, her father got married again. On their one
year anniversary, the father died of an unknown cancer.
Cinderbella’s Step-mother made Cinderbella do all the
chores that you couldn’t even imagine. She had to
clean the Chimney, clean the horse stalls, pick the
weeds, clean every room in the home every single day.
She would clean them spotless and all of the sudden; it
was filthy the next morning. Her step-mother and her
three step-sisters, Lottie, Dotty and Kim, kept her busy.

“Oh, Cinderbella! Would you be a dear and give
the cat a bath?” the Step-mother called as
Cinderbella was cleaning the chimney.
“Mother,” Cinderbella called back, “the cat is
going to bite and scratch me!”
“That is why you are doing it, my dear! And while
you’re in there, you may as well take a bath too,
you smell like a horse!” When Cinderella heard
that she could get a bath she was ecstatic! She is
never able to get a bath. It was rare occasions
that she could get herself clean, like when she
washes the pigs when they are about to be sold.

“Yes mother! Right away mother!” She ran up two
flights of stairs to get the cat, Sylvester, in his
normal spot. “It is pretty upsetting that a cat gets
a better bed than me,” Cinderbella said to herself
as she picked up the cat, only leaving seven
scratches this time. She fled to the bathroom, set
down the cat and shut the door so Sylvester
couldn’t escape. She filled the bath with warm
water and washed the cat quickly and effectively.
She grabbed a towel and dried the cat clean. After
the cat left the bath room, she used the same
towel to wipe up the blood on her arms from the
scratch and bite marks from Sylvester.

After the blood was all dry, Cinderbella took off
her rags that her step-mother gave to her, and
stepped into the bath. The water was warm
and she never wanted to get out. After ten
minutes of sitting in the bath and getting
clean, the step-mother called out “Cinderbella!
You have been in their way too long! Dry up
and get on your clothing, you have lots of work
to do!” Cinderella stepped out and dried
herself off with the same towel, put on her
dirty clothes and walked out.

“What now, mother?”
“Help your sisters; they need help with their hair and
clothing. Don’t leave any dirt in their room. Even better,
after you help them, you will to clean their rooms!”
“Yes mother,” Cinderbella grunted as she walked up
another flight of stairs. She went into Lottie’s room first.
She was the brattiest of the sisters. She had to have
everything right and her way.
“It’s about time you got here, Cinderbella! Who raised
you, slugs?!” Lottie complained. Lottie’s complaints get on
just about everybody’s nerves
“Calm down, Lottie. I’m here now and now we can get
you ready,” Cinderbella sighed as she brushed through
Lottie’s thick curly hair.

After she was done, she went to Dottie’s room. Dottie is very
quiet, but when something isn’t right, she yells and needs to
have it fixed.
“Good morning, Dottie,” Cinderella whispered, scared of getting
on Dottie’s nerves.
“I would like my hair up today,” Dottie said, completely ignoring
Cinderbella’s greeting. Cinderbella got to work. Since Dottie’s
hair is so straight, Cinderbella thought she would curl it for her
too, make her look very nice for were ever she’s going.
“All done. Take a look!” Dottie looked in the mirror and her jaw
dropped in shock.
“What did you do to my hair?”
“Oh, you don’t like it?” Cinderbella asked, getting ready for the
yelling and the screaming.
“I love it!” Dottie thanked her and Cinderbella went on her way
to the third and final sister, Kim.

“Can I come in, Kim?” Cinderbella asked as she knocked on the door. Kim was so
nice to Cinderbella. She acted like an actual sister to her.
“Come on in Bella!” Kim chimed. Right away, Cinderbella got to work on her
hair. Her hair was beautiful! It was dark brown and had the perfect waves.
“So what’s the occasion? Why is everyone so dressed up?”
“Oh, you didn’t hear? The king is holding a ball, hoping the prince would fall in
love with one special girl. All the girls in the kingdom were invited, weren’t you?”
“No, I didn’t even know there was something going on in the castle or even the
whole kingdom!” Cinderbella was in shock. Not because of that she wasn’t told,
but that Kim didn’t tell her. After all, they meet each other every day, why
wouldn’t she tell her?
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, I should have! It’s just that I didn’t want mother
getting mad at me or you. Will you ever forgive me?”
“Yes,” Cinderbella sighed as she finished her sister’s hair.
“Now, I must go! We leaving in five minutes! Sorry again Bella!” Kim said as she
rushed out of the door, leaving Cinderbella on the bed, silently weeping.

As Cinderbella heard the door shut and the click-clack of the
horse’s hooves, Cinderbella ran outside. She went to the
garden and wept. She wept for what felt like hours. Until,
beautiful light blue smoke just came out of nowhere. All of the
sudden, there stood a strange woman with a stick.
“Tell me, dear Cinderbella, why are you weeping? I am your
Fairy Godmother, I can help you, and you can trust me, dear
child.”
Cinderbella dried her tears and spoke to the strange
woman, “I wish I could be anyone or anything else! I don’t
want to be any old maid! I want to be acknowledged!”
“Are you sure, my dear?” Cinderbella nodded her head yes.
“Be careful what you wish for, child.” She suddenly waved her
stick, hit Cinderbella on her head, and all Cinderbella could
see, for a split second, was a flash of white light.
