Martína Lopez saw a blur of movement out of the corner of her eye, she then saw a flash of clothes running toward her, she did a rainbow flick above their heads and then rushed to the goal, the exhilarating feeling was empowering, she looked up and saw the goalie out of its box, martína shot and scored. GOALLL! Martína celebrated by making a dramatic bow

Just then Martína woke up and saw her room, it was just a dream her hope of being a professional soccer player was not ever going to happen. She was just a simple 11 year old girl living in a dream. Her room was filled with soccer posters of her favorite players, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe,and Julie Ertz.

Martína got up and was very excited! Today was a special day for her. She thought, “ I can’t wait for today!! Today is the travel team tryouts!! She was trying out for her local soccer team: DALLAS TEXANS.” Martína dressed up in her favorite shirt, her USA Alex Morgan jersey. She got her ball and yelled while she was going to the garage, “ I’m outside going to the tryouts martína yelled. Martína hopped on her bike with her soccer bag on her back and ready to go. 

Then when she got there the everybody was leaving. Martína cried out, “ wait! Why is everybody leaving?” One of the coaches replied, “ sorry girl but tryouts are done and you missed it, so I’m sorry but you can not join.” No! All my friends are trying out! They all will probably will make it! What about me? Martína said with a sniff. “ well I’m sorry,” the main coach said. Martína went home as fast as she could. Once there she collapsed on her bed sobbing. S

Once Martína was done crying she sat up on her bed, her eyes were red, swollen, and puffy. She went down stairs and told her mom the news. “Oh honey… I’m so sorry!” Said martína’s mom. Martína went to her bed and throw herself a pity party for the rest of the day. Martína woke up the very next day she thought excitedly. Then she realized everything. She was devastated. “MARTÍNA!!!! Somebody is calling you, on the phone come down!” Said martína’s mother. Martína ran down stairs hoping it was the coaches from the tryouts, but sadly it was not.

Instead she told her friends about what happened. Her good friend told her something amazing! They had an opening on a soccer team called the strikers. They were the worst team in the league for ECNL. But then she decided it was better than nothing so then she made a couple of calls and asked if she could try out late. They said yes! Martína was so happy

The very next day martína went to her first practice on the silver wings. Turns out they were not what she expected they were a newly formed team, and some of the had not played soccer at all until this season. Martína learned †hat practice that they actually made it to the finals for the North Star tournament. They were going against the Dallas Texans.
