My name is Jesse. I was born in the 

United States where I live with my 

family. I have a magical monkey named 

Hammington who takes me quickly to 

other countries to learn about people that 

are different from me. Today he is going to 

take us to the Philippines to meet a boy name 

Ramir. 

                                Lets go!

When Hammington holds his magic key and 

says, "Its okay to be different," we can go 

anywhere we want to. We decided to stop in 

Show Low, Arizona to play in the snow and 

build a snowman before we go to the 

Philippians. Did you know that the first time 

it ever snowed in the Philippians was on 

February 4, 2013? I would like to show Ramir 

how to build a snowman someday. 

Lets go to the Philippines! 

We made it to the Philippines. There he is! There 

is Ramir. We can see how we are different. I 

have black hair, he has brown hair. I have white 

skin and Ramir has dark skin. I live in a house 

that is made of bricks, and Ramir's house is 

made out of bamboo and palm tree branches.  

Ramir is a nice boy and it is wonderful that we 

are learning about each other and how our lives 

are different, yet, the same. 

We were about to have Hammington take us to the big 

lake when another boy named Jose walked by Ramir's 

house. The boy shouted at me, "Go away. You don't belong 

in our country. You are different and I don't like you."

Ramir said, "It is not good to be mean to others just 

because they are different. Don't you remember how it 

felt when the other kids laughed at you because you had a 

scar on your face? Do you remember that I wanted to be 

your friend even though you were different?"

The boy looked sad and said, "Yes. I remember. I am 

sorry. Its okay to be different."

  ~POOF~ We arrived at the lake.
