Martynas Jankus (1858-1946) was a public figure in Small Lithuania, publicist, printer, one of the publishers of "Aušra".

During the trip, we visited Martynas Jankus' museum, which is located in Jankus' printing press - Bitėnai.

The idea of establishing the Martynas Jankus' Museum was to revive the memory of M. Jankus from oblivion.

The Jankus museum exposition was established on May 24, 1981. In Bitėnai, in the elementary school building. At that time, it did not have the status of a museum, because the museum was just being created.

This encouraged local residents to be interested in the personality of M. Jankaus, the history of the region, and to collect exhibits little by little.

The museum contains many typewriters, Jankus literary works and many memorabilia of the writer and his family.
