Coloranda

INCORRECT!

Prologue
He cringed as she bent down to take a closer look at it. ‘’This idea…’’ she said carefully, ‘’Is the best I have seen.’’ She cackled. ‘’After trying to take control of the Ninja Princess, this is the next best idea! Coloranda is no match for me!’’
The FOLLOWING pROLOUGUE
Tumbling through a world of light, the girl thought she would never stop falling. She eventually fell to the ground with a loud THUMP!
The girl looked around at her surroundings warily. Where was she?
Suddenly, she saw a shadow of a-a- Well, it wasn’t a human. It wasn’t her dog. It wasn’t a tree. She could come up with quite a few things it could have been instead of what it is.
But it was… It was a fairy. But before we get to that, you should learn the whole story.
Chapter One
‘’Sara!’’ Her mom, Charlotte, later scolded her. ‘’How many times do we have to tell you to stop standing on-’’ She whispered the rest of the sentence into her daughter’s ear, so the people on the train wouldn’t think they were weird.
Sara couldn’t understand why her mom wouldn’t let her, well, let me just take you back a few hours…
The teacher, Mrs. Rosebud, clapped her hands to quiet the classroom. ‘’All right, class,’’ she said, ‘’It’s time to take attendance!’’ The long list of names began. Rosebud looked at her class's names on a sheet of paper. ‘’Jessica,
John, Snowbella, Andy, Linda, Oliver, Esmerelda, Marina, Camilla, Evaline, Sara-’’ Mrs. Rosebud searched for Sara’s raised hand, but she couldn’t find her. She sighed and shook her head. ‘’I have quite a few absent students this week.’’ She called Ms. Moon, the principal, and reported the absent student. Ms. Moon left a message for Charlotte, Sara’s mom.
‘’This is Johnson Public School, informing you that your daughter is absent. Please confirm this…Thank you. Bye.’’
As Ms. Moon left a message for Charlotte, she noticed a girl walking toward the library.
Ms. Moon put on her red glasses, and realized the girl was… Sara! Her phone rang, and Ms. Moon picked up the phone.
‘’Excuse me, Ms. Moon, I dropped Sara off for school. Where is she?’’
Ms. Moon hastily explained the situation, and Charlotte said she would be there soon. It was time to follow the seven-year-old.
Meanwhile, Sara was in the library, searching for a good book. ‘’Fairies, unicorns, princesses- Ooh! Dragons!’’ Sara said and tried to growl like one. She giggled. Sara opened the book and carefully stepped on it. She whispered, ‘’Please let me go into this book-’’
‘’Sara!’’ Ms. Moon said, staring hard at Sara. ‘’Get off that book. NOW!’’
Luckily, Sara’s mom came to the rescue. ‘’No need to yell,’’ Mom said calmly. Ms. Moon stared furiously at Sara. Mom gently took Sara’s hand and led her out of the library. As soon as they were at the train station, Mom dropped her calm demeanor.
‘’Sara! How many times do we have to tell you to stop standing on-’’
she lowered her voice, ‘’Books? Until you learn to treat books with respect, you will be helping organize the library. For a whole month. When we get home, I want you to write an apology letter to the library. RIGHT AWAY! And I would like you to-’’
Sara wished her mom would understand why she stood on books. But no, her mom punished her with book-related things Sarah had no interest in.
Sara sighed and dropped her head into her arms.
It was going to be a long day.
One day, Sara’s mom read Sara a letter that Ms. Moon sent her.
Sara, you matured wonderfully from when you were a little girl. I am pleased to see you learned to behave nicely with books AND AREN’T THINKING ABOUT NONSENSE FAIRY
Chapter Two
TALES! You are a great student when you listen, Sarah. Remember that.
Sara stomped upstairs to her bedroom, furious that the principal thought her ideas were nonsense fairy tales. She angrily thought about how Ms. Moon always stopped her from having fun. It reminded her of an old, 3rd-grade memory…
Sara was thinking of going through a book to Wonderland. ‘I can’t wait to meet Alice,’ she thought.
She’ll need a water bottle, some snacks, and a card for Alice when she feels sad. Maybe she could even give Alice a present!
Oh yes, and she should bring some backup shoes, a
book, and…
‘’Miss Sara?’’ Her math teacher, Mr. Stilts, said. ‘’Aren’t you supposed to be doing your homework on what you’ll do this weekend?’’
Sara grinned. ‘’Actually, I already did,’’ she said, passing her teacher her report.
He smiled, happy that Sara was such a hardworking student. He quickly scanned the three paragraphs Sara had neatly written. He started frowning as he read more and more. Finally, he said, ‘’Come see me after class.’’
Sara frowned, wondering what she did wrong.
After class, Sara slowly walked up to her teacher’s desk, fearing that she was in trouble.
‘’Sara, I have told you many times that your reports should be filled with facts, not fiction.’’
Sara blinked, unsure if he was being serious. ‘’But, Mr. Stilts, I am going to visit Alice on Sunday,’’ she said. ‘’Why don’t you understand that?’’
Mr. Stilts took a deep breath, trying to be patient with his student. ‘’Sara, I love that you have a wonderful imagination, but you must start living in the real world. This-’’ he pointed at the report- ‘’is not facts. Don’t you understand? Sara, I told you to report FACTS. Now, instead of telling me what you’re doing this weekend, I want you to create a report on FACTS AND explain what’s
NOT A FACT. Do you understand?’’
Sara dutifully agreed.
Sara’s Mom was upset when she found out Sara failed her report and gave her extra chores to do.
Sara was annoyed.
Mom knocked on Sara’s door. ‘’Sara? Sara, tomorrow’s your eleventh birthday. What would you like to do?’’
Sara sighed. ‘’Nothing much. Maybe we can go to Disney World?’’
Sara’s mom entered the room, sat on Sara’s bed, and said something that would change Sara’s life forever…
‘’Sara, I know you like to use your imagination and have fun with fairy tales. But…’’ she searched for the right words to say. ‘’But, Sara, you’re growing up. It’s time to do things your age.’’
Sara groaned. ‘’But, Mom, Disney World is fun for any age!’’
‘’I know that Sara, but we have gone to Disney World every year since your 4th birthday. How about we do something else… like- like- laser tag!’’
Sara flopped onto her pillow. ‘’I’m not interested in that kind of stuff,’’ she muttered.
Mom sighed. ‘’I’m trying to broaden your horizons,’’ she said, ‘’But I’ll leave you alone if you want that.’’
Sara woke up in the middle of the night. She must’ve fallen asleep. Sara crept out of bed.
‘’-to go to Disney World! Why can’t she do something else!’’
Sara heard another voice.
‘’Charlotte, Charlotte, it’s in her blood. It just- well, she’s born from this. Fairy Tales. You know that. I’m just disappointed she put her trust in Disney World. And you also know she’s going to be the next-’’
Mom interrupted the person she was talking to. ‘’Hush, we don’t want Sara to hear.’’
‘’Well, may I try?’’
TRY WHAT, TRY WHAT? Sara’s mind begged her to go

downstairs.
‘’I suppose. But if she gets hurt, that’s on you, Mom,’’ Sarah’s mom said.
Sarah bounced with excitement. Grandma was here! But she knew she couldn’t go downstairs, however, because they knew she was eavesdropping. Sarah climbed back into bed and tried to fall asleep…
Chapter Three
Sara yawned.
She hadn’t had a very good rest last night since she was very busy thinking about Grandma. Sara swung her legs over her bed. Today was her eleventh birthday!
Her big sister, Olivia Lee Martinez, entered her room. ‘’Morning, birthday girl,’’ she teased, ‘’Want me to help you pick out some clothes for your big day?’’
Sara jumped up and hugged her tightly. Her little brother, Felix, joined in.
‘’We have to get to the airport by ten!’’
Olivia coughed. ‘’Um, maybe you should ask Mom about that…’’
‘’Why?’’ Sara asked suspiciously.
‘’Why?’’ Felix repeated, laughed, and ran out of the room. Olivia held her hands together. ‘’Well, mom didn’t get plane tickets…’’
Sara ran to her mom’s room. ‘’THIS IS THE WORST BIRTHDAY EVER!’’ she shouted.
Mom put her hands on her hips. ‘’We’re doing something different.’’
Sara sniffled. ‘’But it isn’t my choice…’’ She ran back to her room. An hour later, Sara peeked out of her room. No one was there. She went down the stairs by the railing, and she still didn’t see anyone. Where could everyone be?
Sara saw Grandma sitting on the couch. ‘’GRANDMA!’’
she shouted.
Grandma smiled. ‘’Hi, darling,’’ she said, but then frowned. ‘’You’re still in your pajamas, birthday girl.’’
Sara nodded bashfully.
Grandma stood up and gave her a bag. ‘’Here’s your clothes.’’
Sara looked in the bag and saw a beautiful dress. ‘’Thank you, oh, thank you! Wait, where’s Olivia? And Mom?’’
Grandma sighed. ‘’They’re buying a plane ticket.’’
‘’Oh…’’ Sara said.
Grandma smiled again. ‘’No matter, just get dressed!’’
Five minutes later, Sara was completely dressed and
ready to go. But she didn’t see Grandma on the couch.
‘’Grandma?’’ Sara asked curiously.
‘’You’re ready,’’ Grandma’s hushed voice said.
Sara whirled around. “Grandma?” she asked. Grandma was nowhere to be seen.
Her dog, Luna, appeared from under the table.
Sara scratched her ears and then turned back to the couch. Curiously, a rainbow-colored book was in Grandma’s place. Sara cautiously sat on the sofa and held the book in her hands. It said, ‘Coloranda’s World. Sara gasped. Sharp winds started to push Sara closer to the book. The book flipped open, sucking Sara inside!
And, now we’re at the part you have been thinking

about: Tumbling through a world of light, the girl thought she would never stop falling. She eventually fell to the ground with a loud ‘THUMP!’ The girl looked around at her surroundings warily. Where was she?
Suddenly, she saw a shadow of a-a- Well, it wasn’t a human. It wasn’t her dog. It wasn’t a tree. She could come up with quite a few things it could have been instead of what it was.
But it was…
It was a fairy.
‘’Ahh!’’ Sara and the fairy screamed.
The fairy quickly brushed off her shirt
‘’My name is Ruby, and you really caught me by surprise, but anyway, there are more important matters to think about. As I said, my name is Ruby, and- and you can help us!’’
Sara narrowed her eyes. ‘’My entire life I wanted to go through a book NOW YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’’
The fairy -Ruby- was quite startled, so she began to stutter. ‘’I-I’m s-sorry b-but you-you’re from the E-Earth,
r-right?’’
Sara felt bad for the fairy, but she didn’t show it. ‘’Of course I’m from Earth!’’ she yelled.
Chapter Four
Ruby grinned. ‘’This is amazing! You’re from the Oracle! You can save us all!’’
Sara took a step back. ‘’Excuse me?’’
Ruby was going on and on about how lucky she was. ‘’This is a great thing for my future! I’ll show them I can be the next Miss Rubella! I saw the girl who will save us all! I did! I’ll be chosen among my adopted siblings to be a second in command!’’
Sara couldn’t quite understand Ruby, for she was talking so fast. ‘’Uhh- what now?’’
Ruby’s smile disappeared. ‘’You’ve come to save us… right?’’
Sara wrinkled her forehead. ‘’What do you mean?’’
Ruby began to blink. Faster and faster. ‘’Y-you’re from the Oracle. You will save us from destruction.’’
Sara shook her head. ‘’I don’t understand.’’
Ruby grabbed her hand and started running. ‘’Come on, we don’t want to be late!’’
Sara tripped but Ruby quickly pulled her back up. ‘’Late for WHAT?’’
Ruby laughed. ‘’To see Queen Isabelle, of course!’’
Sara coughed. ‘’Where… exactly… are we… going?’’
Ruby shook her head. ‘’I just told you. We’re going to
see Queen Isabelle at her palace, and she’s the queen of Colors. There are other queens, like the queen of the pixies, Queen Meraline, or the queen of candy, Queen Kandie-’’
Sara giggled. ‘’Her name is Kandie?’’
Ruby smiled and slowed down to walk. ‘’Yeah, most citizens who live in a certain area are named after a candy…’’
‘’What is this world called?’’ Sara asked, getting more and more curious by the moment.
Ruby laughed. ‘’Coloranda, of course!’’
Sara smiled. ‘’That’s a colorful name.’’
Ruby nodded. ‘’It’s even illegal to
write Coloranda without colors!’’
‘Wow!’ Sara thought.
Ruby pointed at a castle far up ahead. ‘’That’s Queen Isabelle’s castle, but before we enter, we have to change our clothes to look more colorful.’’
‘’What do you mean?’’ Sara asked.
Ruby grinned mysteriously and retrieved a wand from her purse. She waved the wand, and said, ‘’Turnie lookie doodle doodle lurkie turnie usie!’’
Sara frowned. ‘’What’s that supposed to do?’’ she asked but then shrieked.
write Coloranda without colors!’’
Ruby’s dark skin had turned red. Her green eyes were still as shiny as ever, but her blond hair had
turned red with a streak of pink. Her T-shirt with jeans changed into a stunning dress with amazing colors. Her clear fairy wings turned pink. Ruby smiled again. ‘’I’m not supposed to show what I really look like right away. But in this world, everything is colorful.’’ Ruby reached into her purse and retrieved a mirror.
Sara looked at herself and gasped.
Her brown wavy hair had turned purple, and her skin was light pink. Sara’s own green eyes were still there, but her freckles had disappeared because of how dark her skin was. Sara’s cute tutu that her Grandma gave her had not changed.
Ruby saw her looking at her clothes with confusion,
and she said warmly, ‘’Your clothes are perfect the way they are.’’ Sara smiled back at her. DING, DING! A loud dinging sound rang in their ears.
Ruby looked at her with panic. ‘’We’re going to be late! Come, quickly!’’
Sara took a deep breath and sprinted after Ruby.
Sara panted as they ran to the entrance of the colorful mansion.
The guards pushed the door open. ‘’We’ve been waiting for your arrival. Come in, come in.’’
Inside the castle was huge. All you could see was gold. And rainbows. And gold. And rainbows. Everything that she could see, from chandeliers to statues to tables, everything was covered with those two colors. Sara also saw beautiful golden couches with a rainbow waterfall creeping around the couch. There were palm trees tucked into the corners of the room, and
everywhere Sara looked, there were majestic things and items she could have never seen.
On a vast gold/rainbow throne, Sara saw a tall woman with a very concerned expression. She had pink skin and blue eyes. Her hair was very long, and it was a rainbow color. She had the longest gown that no one had ever seen, and she was quietly speaking to another woman standing next to her.
‘’Mom,’’ Ruby whispered to Sara in the way of explanation.
Sara nodded.
The woman -Ruby’s Mom- glared at them. ‘’Just because I’m your mom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t
bow.’’
Ruby quickly bowed.
Sara was about to do the same when Queen Isabelle stopped her.
‘’You’re too important to bow to me,’’ she said.
And to Sara’s surprise, Queen Isabelle bowed to Sara.
It was an awkward moment with Ruby and Queen Isabelle bowing.
Finally, Ruby’s mom said, ‘’Ahem,’’ and two servants gave Ruby and Sara chairs to sit in.
Once everyone was settled, as you can imagine, Sara wanted an explanation. So she asked politely, ‘’Please explain this to me.’’
Queen Isabelle nodded. ‘’You deserve an explanation, child. I mean, Your Majesty.’’
Sara gawked at her. ‘This queen must be going crazy,’ she thought.
Queen Isabelle smiled at her. ‘’You are the granddaughter of the leader of this world,’’ she said.
Sara didn’t want to disrespect the queen, but surely she was wrong! ‘’Your Majesty,’’ she said shyly, ‘’I’m nothing else besides a simple girl.’’
Queen Isabelle smiled again. ‘’Tis you think that but you’re wrong. Sara, you are the future leader of this world.’’
Sara’s vision began darkening. Sara closed her eyes
and tried to stand up, but she fainted.
Sara awoke on the softest bed she ever laid on. She thought it was quite wonderful, but when she opened her eyes several servants were staring at her.
‘’She’s awake!’’ a girl whispered.
‘’We know, Chloey,’’ a sarcastic boy replied.
‘’Be quiet!’’ a girl with braids said.
‘’We know,’’ the sarcastic boy said again.
‘’Wow, I love her eyes!’’ Chloey whispered.
‘’Uhuh!’’ a boy with dark blue skin shouted.
‘’She’s sitting up!’’ the girl with braids squealed.
‘’EVERYONE MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!’’ The booming voice of Queen Isabelle filled the room.
Everyone quickly moved out of the way.
Queen Isabelle entered the room.
The tip of her long, colorful, wavy hair touched the ground. Her elegant golden dress trailed on the floor. Queen Isabelle sat on the corner of the bed.
‘’Sara, wake up,’’ she said. Sara suddenly felt very energized, like she had drank 3 cups of coffee (not that she ever tried coffee,) without tasting the aftertaste! ‘’Yes, my Queen?’’ Sara asked eagerly.
Queen Isabelle took a very deep breath. ‘’I need you to go to Underfairy to save Imaginations.’’
‘’Whaaaat?’’ Sara said.
Queen Isabelle smiled. ‘’Get her a Rainbow Burst to drink. She looks very faint,’’ she ordered the servants who were still lingering around. They quickly obeyed.
Sara examined her rainbow-colored drink.
It was a bubbly, sweet, liquid that fizzled in her mouth. Her green eyes widened in surprise. ‘This tastes amazing,’ she thought.
As Sara continued sipping her drink, she looked at Queen Isabelle for an explanation.
Queen Isabelle took a deep breath, then explained…
‘’Sara, this world isn't always how it seems. Once, this

place wasn’t even called Coloranda. Amazing, huh?
Oh, those times were great. Color festivals were frequent, and there was one queen-The most powerful one- who ruled over us all, Queen Amethyst, daughter of Queen Rosewell, the mother of Princess Charlotte, and the grandmother of Olivia and more.
‘’One day, a horrible gargoyle crew came and destroyed half of the kingdom. Queen Amethyst couldn’t do anything but try to calm the people. Not that the people would listen to her. After a few days, the gargoyles mysteriously left. We called those times the Stone Ages, for the gargoyles were made of… stone. These gargoyles were unlike any
other gargoyles. They were smarter, faster, and better. They were also tempting. Day after day, the gargoyles would go after villagers, tempting them to tell the gargoyles where the Queens were hidden. They offered huge rewards to all who would listen, and the people gladly accepted.
‘’But even though Queen Amethyst tried to mend as much as she could, friendships were broken. Kingdoms were split apart. And the Queen was heartbroken.
And that’s when Underfairy was created. Underfairy was mostly made of mazes, and it was a place to evacuate if anything happened like that again. There are only two Queens that rule Underfairy, and one of
them is Queen Annalise.
‘’Queen Annalise is different from most queens. She was chosen by the Oracle, an ancient writing that predicts the future, which is quite odd. Most queens are chosen by Queen Amethyst, the supreme ruler.
Someone switched imaginations off in Coloranda, resulting in no one having imagination, which makes all of Coloranda, you know, sad. Without imagination, Coloranda would be sad. Deflated, and gloomy. On Earth, kids wouldn’t have imagination, and they would be watching telecolorsion, and they wouldn’t play, read, or draw. You see, this is very bad. It affects Earth and Coloranda.
‘’There’s another thing. One of the Underfairy Queens will turn evil. Yes, I forgot to mention the other Underfairy Queen, is Queen Aurelia, daughter of the petite maid Annie and the mother of Princess Amber. Queen Aurelia was also chosen by the Oracle to be queen. So either Aurelia or Annalise would turn evil. I had just received word that Queen Annalise just banned the Underfairy citizens from buying food. So, yes, she’s most likely evil. And, now, here is your mission, dear Princess. You will go to Underfairy to Save Imaginations with Ruby. This isn’t only for us, but for you also. You see, you wouldn’t have much imagination either. You would be a little immune to it,
but gradually, the thirst for imagining would fade.
‘’High Princess Sara, our destiny is in your hands.’’

Sara woke up very early the next morning.
She was freaking out from being called ‘princess,’ and, ‘your superior highness,’ and all of that kind of stuff. And something kept bothering Sara- Queen Amethyst’s daughter was named Charlotte! Her mom was Charlotte! Charlotte’s daughter was Olivia, and Sara’s sister was named Olivia! Sara shook her head and focused on the task at hand.
A maid was giving her many gowns to choose from -an emerald, flowy dress with green slippers, a wildflower dress with a yellow bowtie, a ruffled pink dress with pink roses on it, a yellow dress with an identical yellow fan,
and, finally, an everyday purple dress with a polka-dotted headband.
Sara decided to choose the purple dress, but Ruby came into her room.
‘’Sara, hurry up and choose a dress already. You’re taking too long- and, Amatallah, do NOT give her that purple dress! It’s WAY not fashionable. Here, Princess, take this beautiful scarlet dress my mom gave me. It’s a perfect match with your light purple hair and emerald-colored eyes.’’
Sara shrugged. ‘’All right.’’
20 minutes later, Sara was dressed, brushed, and ready to go.
That was quite an understatement- she was TERRIFIED.
She didn’t know what she would do if she failed. Sara picked up her golden purse carefully and strolled across the castle’s hall. Her purple Color Jane slippers tapped the floor. Her hair swayed back and forth as she made her way to the carriage Queen Isabelle had provided for her travel.
Ruby was waiting for her at the door. ‘’Ready to go?’’ Ruby asked in a much more compassionate voice than she used earlier.
Sara nodded and shivered.
It was going to be an epic ride.
‘’I’m sorry for being rude earlier,’’ Ruby said as the carriage started to move. ‘’It’s just that my mom is all business, and… I kind of get it from her.’’
Sara nodded. ‘’I understand.’’
Ruby seemed kind of embarrassed, so she changed the subject. ‘’I, um, have something for you,’’ Ruby said.
Sara stared at her. ‘’Really?’’
Ruby twirled her red hair. ‘’Um, yeah, you don’t have to have it if you don’t want to… but here.’’ Ruby reached into her bag and pulled out a golden locket. Ruby handed it to Sara.
Sara inspected it and opened the locket. Inside was a beautiful mini picture frame that said, Best Friends.

Ruby smiled awkwardly. ‘’I’m not saying we’re best friends, but it was just a present…’’
Sara shook her head and reached over from her seat to hug Ruby.
They were just finishing hugging each other when the road started becoming bumpy. ‘’WHAT’S HAPPENING?’’ They shouted, holding hands desperately.
A huge rainbow blast was falling toward the carriage! ‘’AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!’’ Ruby and Sara screamed.
The rainbow blast knocked the carriage over. They tumbled everywhere, thinking the same thing: WE ARE GOING TO DIE!
‘’You’re not going to die.’’ a voice said from inside the
carriage.
As she tumbled, Sara noticed a girl around her age.
The girl, for some reason, was not tumbling. She was staying perfectly still on the chair. Oh- it’s because she had a rainbow-colored seatbelt on.
‘’HELP US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’’ Sara screamed.
The girl shrugged. ‘’All right,’’ she said and snapped her fingers.
The carriage immediately stopped moving… but upside down. The girl clicked off her seatbelt and landed on the floor… more of the top of the carriage, because, you know, it’s UPSIDE DOWN. The girl brushed her bangs back. She had red hair and yellow skin- and Sara couldn’t
help noticing- she had wings… and a mermaid tail!
‘’Hi, I’m Amber. I’m a flying mermaid. Oh, yeah, you’re not from here. Sorry about that. Oh, you’re saving
imaginations? Gee, Ruby, sorry for crashing into you. But, as I said earlier, you didn’t DIE.’’
Sara stared at her with wide eyes.
Ruby just examined her nails.
Amber shook her head. ‘’Ruby, you are such a know-it-all. Sara, dear Princess Sara, yes, I can read your mind, WHICH RUBY ISN’T TELLING YOU! And, also, I’m joining your mission to save imaginations.’’
Sara gaped at her.
Ruby shook Amber’s hand. ‘’As you said, I’m Ruby, and
this is Sara. Nice to meet you, Amber.’’
Amber giggled. ‘’Oh, yes… it’s very nice to meet you. Well, since the carriage is broken, we have to fly…

Sara couldn’t believe what was happening.
Ruby and Amber were holding each of her hands. And. They. Were. FLYING!
‘’IS IT FUN!?’’ Amber said over the wind. Scream, more likely.
Sara nodded. ‘’MORE TERRIFYING!’’ She screamed back. Ruby shook her head. ‘’You guys are too silly.’’
Amber laughed. ‘’I LOVE SILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Sara laughed with her. She made sure her locket was still around her neck, for she didn’t want to lose it already!
‘’LAND HO!’’ Amber yelled as they approached
Underfairy. But as they landed, Amber seemed kind of… nervous.
‘’There’s something you should know about me…’’ she said, fiddling with her starfish necklace.
Sara laughed. ‘’Take your time. It sounds like you have more than a few things to talk about.’’
Amber giggled nervously. ‘’Well, I am the good princess of Underfairy and I can control imaginations.’’ She said in a rush.
Everyone’s jaw dropped.
Sara was the first to speak. ‘’Then why are imaginations disappearing?’’ she demanded.
Amber frowned. ‘’I do not know! My mom, Queen
Aurelia received a message that the Imaginations Switch was off. A-and the soldiers are too afraid to turn it back on! S-so it’s up to m-me. B-but then you came along, so will you help me?’’
Sara laughed. ‘’Of course, we will, that’s why we’re here. Amber sighed happily. ‘’Thanks.’’
Meanwhile, on Earth…
1/29/2022 12:55 P.M.
Hey, Mom. Did you get the plane ticket?

Charlotte quickly texted Olivia back.
1/29/2022 12:56 P.M.
I’m in line. Why?
1/29/2022 12:58 P.M.
I’m just worried about Sara. She’s not replying to me at all also can we go to Laser Tag instead?
1/29/2022 1:00 P.M.
I’m sorry, honey. Sara wants to go to Disney World-

wait, hold on, I’m next.
1/29/2022 1:05 P.M.
Oh no! I might have to consider your suggestion, Olivia.
1/29/2022 1:07 P.M
Why?!
1/29/2022 1:07 P.M.
There are no more plane tickets to Disney World. We should have gone earlier…
1/29/2022 1:09 P.M
Sara will survive. But I hope she’s not going to be
upset…
1/29/2022 1:12 P.M
Be a dear and tell your sister that, please.
1/29/2022 1:12 P.M.
She’s not replying.
1/29/2022 1:13 P.M.
What do you mean?
1/29/2022 1:13 P.M.
Mom, I’m serious. She’s not replying.
1/29/2022 1:13 P.M
Oh, no… Or maybe your grandma is keeping her too entertained to reply!
1/29/2022 1:15 P.M.
I don’t know, Mom, but I have a feeling something is going on.

Sara, Ruby, and Amber landed by the dark gates of Underfairy. It had a dark shimmer, but it could hardly be called a gate for Underfairy for it was underground.
Amber and Ruby gripped her hand again.
Sara took rapid breaths.
‘’Ready… Set… JUMP!’’ Amber and Ruby shouted and jumped. Sara, on the other hand, was too afraid to jump and was pulled by them. Sara wondered where the dark tunnel would lead.
3 minutes later, they landed. Sara sighed. This was a very tiring and complicated mission.
‘’Oh, this is where I live!’’ Amber sang as they walked toward her palace.
‘’Nice Palace, Amber,’’ Sara said, impressed.
Amber blushed. ‘’Thanks!’’ she said.
Ruby grinned. ‘’I live at a palace, just for Ladies in waiting, maids, and servants, but this is way bigger!’’
Sara smiled and looked up at the palace. It was waaaaaaaaaaaay too big to live in.
Ruby saw her staring with wide eyes. ‘’Most villagers live in big houses and mansions,’’ she said hurriedly. ‘’Come on!’’
They stepped carefully across the bridge that leads to the castle.
Sara looked below the bridge. Under it was a big moat with crocodiles in it.
Amber shook her head. ‘’My mom likes crocodiles,’’ she said in a way of explanation.
Sara nodded.
‘’MOM! I’M HOME!’’ Amber shouted.
Amber’s mom, Queen Aurelia, came down the stairs. ‘’Amber! Honey! We’re under attack! This is not a false alarm! I repeat this is not a false alarm! EVERYONE EVACUATE!’’
Sara shook her head frantically. ‘’We have to get to the
evil queen’s castle and save imaginations!’’
Ruby grabbed her arm. ‘’It’s too dangerous!’’
Sara shook her head and slipped out of her grasp. ‘’You can go if you like. But this…’’ Sara noticed soldiers on the evil queen's side faking moves to hurt the good soldiers. Sara quickly finished her sentence. ‘’BUT THIS IS A DECOY!’’
Amber stared at her. ‘’Sara’s right! We gotta go!’’
Ruby shook her head. ‘’We have to go,’’ she corrected but followed Amber and Sara.
The race began, dodging cannonballs and running between soldiers’ legs.
Sara shrieked as she barely missed a cannonball.

Amber and Ruby held her arms and flew when there was too much action going on.
‘’WE HAVE TO MAKE IT TO THAT ENTRANCE! IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO UNDERFAIRY CAVES!’’ Sara saw a huge cannonball making its way to the entrance! ‘’FLY FASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’’ Everyone screamed. They almost made it, they were there! Once they landed they noticed the cannonball rolling through the tunnel!
‘’RUN!!!!!!’’ Ruby yelled. The chase began, and every once in a while they looked back to see that the cannonball was still hot on their heels.
They were running beside a stream when suddenly Amber yelled, ‘’JUMP!’’
Sara looked just in time to see there was a waterfall blocking the whole path.
They all jumped… but didn’t make it! They all screamed in horror as they plunged into the ice-cold water!
Sara could barely see what was going on as they were carried down the river. She barely noticed the cannonball fizzled out in the cold water, but she did notice that Ruby and Amber weren’t next to her. She twirled around, trying to find them, but they were nowhere to be found. She was about to swim up to catch a breath! But the current was so fast, and Sara’s lungs were about to explode…
Sara noticed that a big boulder was in the way. She was
so frozen she could barely think to move out of the way when she crashed into the boulder and blacked out…
‘’Sara.’’
Sara noticed she was being rocked back and forth.
‘’Sara! Oh, I wished you told us there was a waterfall, Amber!’’
‘’I didn’t know! Our maps probably need to be updated.’’
Sara started coughing. She coughed up a whole gallon of water.
Ruby smacked her back continuously. ‘’Take it all out, Sara.’’
When Sara finished coughing, she looked up at her surroundings.
They were in a dark, cold cave filled with-Sara cocked her ear- bats?
Amber sighed. ‘’It’s the best we could do,’’ she said, reading Sara’s mind.
She shivered.
Amber started gathering their wet things. ‘’Well, let’s keep going.’’
Ruby stood up. Sara did too. ‘’Let’s continue.’’
Meanwhile, on Earth…

1/29/2022 3:36 P.M Charlotte
All right, darling, I’ll be right there.
PRIVATE CHAT.
1/29/2022 3:40 P.M Jessica
Hi, Olivia. I was trying to find Sara so she could tell me what time we were going to Disney World but I couldn't find her.
1/29/2022 3:43 P.M Olivia
How do you have my email?
1/29/2022 3:43 P.M. Jessica
Sara told me.
1/29/2022 3:45 P.M Olivia
Oh. And, no, I do not know where Sara is, sorry! But all I know is we’re going to Laser Tag.
1/29/2022 3:47 P.M Jessica
That sounds way more fun! Well, thx, Olivia!
1/29/2022 3:30 P.M Olivia
No prob! See you soon!
1/29/2022 3:30 P.M Jessica
See you!! Bye!

Sara shivered as they traveled further down the dark caves. She flinched when a wet who-knows-what landed on her neck. She jumped at the occasional screech of a bat.
‘’Almost there,’’ Ruby and Amber kept telling her.
Sara held her head up and marched through the caves.
After a few hours, they came across a sign. It had a massive map on it.

Amber cheered, ‘’We made it! We made it!’’
Sara gave a tired smile back. Suddenly, they heard a rumbling noise. No- a thumping noise.
Sara realized it was the sound of horseshoes!
Ruby pushed them behind a rock. They listened carefully, for the thumping had stopped.
CHHH. Come in, Master. Princess Coralina was not found. I repeat Princess Coralina was not found. Do you copy? Over.
Sara heard the CHH sound again, and she heard another voice over the color talkie.
CHHH. I hear you, Soldier. Queen Annalise is very impatient for her daughter to come back. She was planning to put the crown on her head at her orientation on her 10th birthday. Over.
CHHH. Sorry, Master. Still no luck. I will find her very soon. I will not let you down. Over and out.
The girls held their breath until the stomping disappeared. They were about to continue their journey when they heard more galloping.
‘’Here we go again,’’ Ruby muttered as she pushed the girls behind the rock.
A young girl appeared on a beautiful light gold horse. She had very puffy hair and she had a very determined expression.
Sara gasped. Very quietly. In fact, to this day, the three friends often wondered how the girl heard that. ‘’I surrender,’’ the girl said aloud, ‘’I’ll go to the orientation. Just- just stop bothering me!’’
Sara appeared out of her hiding place.
So did Amber, and reluctant Ruby. ‘’Hi! We didn’t mean to scare you! Wait, who are you?’’
The girl warily looked at each of them. ‘’I’m not
supposed to do this,’’ she said carefully, ‘’But I have broken half of my rules anyway. You may have heard of me. Or maybe not. But I’m known as…’’ she grinned and petted her horse.
‘’My name’s Princess Coralina, and I’m the daughter of Queen Annalise. My mom turned evil, and it’s my duty to stop her. Are you going to help, or what?’’

‘’So, my name’s Coralina (you may call me Coral for short,) and I’m here to seek the girl from the Oracle. I studied her for many years. She was to come from Earth to save imaginations. She was also to come here to Underfairy, well, today!’’ Coral looked Sara straight in the eyes. ‘’Are you that girl?’’
Sara sighed. Then, she slowly nodded.
Coral smiled. ‘’Brilliant! I can’t wait to stop my mom from being evil. Let’s go!’’
They all stopped going down the cave. There was a big cliff. Coral shook her head. ‘’These soldiers. They want me to come back but they’re destroying the path! Well, we’re going to have to jump.’’
‘’WHAT?!’’ The rest of the girls shouted. Coral shrugged. ‘’I don’t see any other way down. Goldenrod, jump after me!’’
The Palomino horse gracefully nodded her huge head. Coral took a deep breath and jumped.
Sara looked down and saw Coral on the floor with her eyes closed! ‘’CORAL, ARE YOU OKAY?!’’ Sara yelled.
Coral’s eyes popped open. ‘’Yeah, I just landed wrong! Come now!’’
Sara took a deep breath, then another. She disliked jumping. But she had no choice. She gathered all of her courage and jumped.
‘ ’You did it!’’ she heard Coral say.
Sara opened her eyes. She was lying on a dirt path. THUMP! THUMP!
Ruby and Amber landed after her.
‘’Whoa!’’ Amber said.
Ruby shook her head. ‘’It was just too steep to fly.’’
Coral nodded. ‘’That’s why I said to jump.’’
Ruby smiled.
Coral stood up. ‘’Well, girls, it’s time to continue. We don’t have long, but luckily the castle is only 2 miles away! Let’s keep going…’’
Meanwhile, on Earth…
4:30 p.m.
‘’Thanks for buying lunch, Mom,’’ Olivia yawned and stretched. ‘’Got Laser Tag tickets?’’
Mom nodded and showed it to her. ‘’Now, honey, we’re
going to pick up Jessica around five, Sara and Grandma at 5:20, and one of my friends at 5:30. Then, we’ll drive back to the airport to fly to the closest Laser Tag and stay at the hotel.’’
Olivia nodded. ‘’Great!’’ Suddenly, her phone buzzed. Olivia sighed. ‘’It’s Jessica again,’’ she said.
1/29/2022 4:35 P.M Jessica
Hi, Olivia I just wanted to ask what time are you going to pick me up.
Olivia quickly replied.
1/29/2022 4:35 P.M Olivia
Yeah, we’re going to pick you up at five.
1/29/2022 4:36 P.M Jessica
Great! Bye, Olivia!
1/29/2022 4:38 P.M Olivia
Bye!
Olivia decided to talk to Grandma.
1/29/2022 4:39 P.M Olivia
Hi, Grandma!
1/29/2022 4:39 P.M Olivia
Hi, pumpkin pie. How are you?
1/29/2022 4:41 P.M Olivia
Good! How’s Sara?
1/29/2022 4:41 P.M Olivia
S-Sara? Sara’s excellent she’s just watching TC and doing a handstand and-
1/29/2022 4:42 P.M Olivia
Do you mean TV?
1/29/2022 4:42 P.M Olivia
Yes, dear, of course, that’s what I mean. How’s your mom?
1/29/2022 4:43P.M Olivia
Um… she’s good. This time we’re going to Laser Tag.
1/29/2022 4:43P.M
Laser Tag!?
1/29/2022 4:43P.M
Um… yeah?
YAHOO!!!
Sheesh, Grandma. All right.
Bye, darling, got to go.
Really? Why? And why isn’t Sara answ- PHONE DIED.
Sara jumped as Coral shouted, ‘’We’re here!’’ Ruby and Amber smiled.
Sara- well, Sara was quite terrified. Sara looked up to see a mysterious dark castle, and like Amber’s castle, it had a dark shimmer. ‘’Not bad,’’ Sara admired.
Coral grinned. ‘’Thanks! Now, we have to get in without being seen… Wait! There’s a tunnel that leads to my bedroom under that bridge!’’ Coral pointed at a nearby bridge that crosses over to a village.
Ruby quickly held Coral’s hand before she continued. ‘’Wait! Let’s make sure no one would recognize us…’’ Ruby
twirled her wand and said, ‘’Turnie Lookie Princess, Earthie, Mermaid, me!’’
Sara shook her head. ‘’Ruby, that was just a bundle of nonsense- whoa!’’ Sara’s whole look changed in a matter of seconds! ‘’Wow!’’ they all said, admiring their new look. Coral smiled. ‘’Let me put my horse in the stable… Ok, Let’s go now!’’ she said. Everyone quickly followed her under the bridge.
There’s no time to waste!
Sara slowly blinked.
Coral was pulling a big wood block out of the way from the ground. Once she moved it, they saw another tunnel.
Coral was already climbing in. ‘’Don’t worry,’’ she said,
‘’this tunnel’s very short.’’
Sara jumped into the tunnel next after Coral. This was quite surprising, for she was usually one who goes last.
Ruby was next, then Amber.
‘’WHOOOO HOOOO!’’ they all screamed. They landed on a dirt path.
Coral pointed at a door a few feet ahead of them. ‘’That’s my room,’’ she said. They briskly walked to the door and Coral opened it.
All Sara could see were clothes.
‘’Sorry,’’ Coral said as they pushed past the clothes. ‘’My clothes hide the door so no one sees them!’’
Sara pushed back one last dress and she saw a beautiful room that was the size of a small house! It had a crisp white chandelier on the high ceiling. Sara also noticed the ceiling was painted with light pink flowers.
‘’Look!’’ Ruby gasped, and Sara looked across the room to see a neatly made bed with flowers on either nightstand. The walls were painted baby blue and Coral had a large purple rug. There were many other things in that room I could tell you but what astounded them was the view out of the window.
There were triple rainbows everywhere you could see and there were unicorns. Beautiful, beautiful unicorns with rainbow coats. There was a very steep waterfall that
was rushing down. The only thing was that it was dark. Everything had a small dimness to it. (rainbows at Coloranda last forever. Also, you can make a rainbow without the sun or rain)
Coral turned toward Sara. ‘’It’s always dim here,’’ she said, ‘’for we live underground.’’
Sara nodded.
Coral started heading toward her bedroom door. ‘’To figure out where the switch for Imaginations is at, I need a snack!’’
Ruby worriedly stared out of the door. ‘’But what if someone recognizes us?’’
Sara, Coral, and Amber shook their heads. ‘’You
disguised us, remember?’’ Sara said.
‘’We’ll be fine. Besides, as Coral said, I need a snack!’’ Amber added.
Ruby smiled. ‘’I suppose…’’ ‘’Let’s go!’’
They all cheered.

Sara did a little hop as they made their way to the doors of the Princess Snack room.
‘’This place has exceptionally good treats,’’ Coral said.
Ruby nodded. ‘’There was one in Queen Isabelle’s castle, but I wasn’t allowed to go in.’’
The guard in front of the door gave Sara shivers. ‘’Young Princesses, come in…’’
Sara bit her lip so hard to avoid saying, ‘’Who are you calling young? I’m eleven!’’
Coral grimaced. ‘’That guard always says that,’’ she whispered.
As they entered the huge room, Sara became distracted from all of the yummy delicacies and good-smelling sweets.
Coral quickly found a table for them, and they quickly picked out their sweets.
Ruby smiled as she tried a very cinanomy donut.
Amber did a funny dance as she tried a slice of apple pie.
Coral sighed with happiness as she demolished a cheesecake, but Sara had a whole chocolate cake. ''I can't finish it all," she said mournfully.
Her three friends giggled.
After they were done eating, they cleaned themselves up and left the Princess Snack room.
Coral excused herself to the bathroom, and they
waited patiently for her. But she showed up sooner than they expected.
A very puffy-haired Coral appeared. She seemed taller than before, even taller than Ruby!
‘’Hey, Coral,’’ Ruby said, ‘’Shall we go on now?’’
Coral glared at them. ‘’Say, ‘Princess Coralina, Your Majesty, shall we go on now?’ Be PROPER.’’
Ruby, Sara, and Amber looked at each other quizzically.
‘’She’s the one who told us to call her that,’’ Sara whispered to her friends.
But Coral (or, Princess Coralina, as we must say now,) was very impatient and stamped her foot. ‘’We must be off now,’’ she said, ‘’my maid is waiting for me.’’

He cringed as she bent down to take a closer look at it. ‘’This idea…’’ she said carefully, ‘’Is the best I have seen.’’ She cackled. ‘’After trying to take control of the Ninja Princess, this is the next best idea! Coloranda is no match for me!’’
