Once upon a time there was an extremely poor and struggling family. It was hard for them to make ends meet but as Christmas time came, their little daughter - Karen wished for a dog under the Christmas tree. Sadly they couldn't afford that.

On Christmas Eve they didn't do anything special. Dad brought a tiny three and mom decorated it with paper ornaments. Karen wasn't helping this year. She was still sad as she knew that she couldn't enjoy Christmas as her friends.
