Cleopatra could speak different languages and was very well-educated.

Cleopatra was a member of an ancient Greek Dynasty which took over Egypt in 305 B.C.

In 51 B.C. Cleopatra  was supposed to continue her father's legacy and rule over Egypt.  

A lot of people did not agree with this decision because of Cleopatra's age.  

Cleopatra decided to get married to Ptolemy XIII and rule jointly to keep the Egyptian traditions.  Ptolemy XIII wanted the throne for himself and that led to a civil war.  

Because of the Civil War, Cleopatra fled to Syria which at the time was under Rome's control.  

After being exiled in Syria, Cleopatra met the famous Julius Caesar.  Cleopatra relied on Julius Caesar to take back her throne.  

Cleopatra and Julius Caesar got married, even though Cleopatra was 30 years younger than Julius Caesar.
