The big hairy cat was asleep on a mat,
made of soft cotton, thick wool and white hair.
It could sleep on a mat or a coat or a hat
or a sofa, in fact anywhere.
Now awake on the mat, this big lazy cat,
ate everything placed in its dish.
It was chicken today, in the dish on the tray,
but its favourite treat was fresh fish.

Whilst walking outside the cat saw a
mouse, so it chased all round a big tree.
The cat's tails curled around, the small
mouse on the ground, and the mouse was now stuck as
can be.
"Why did you do that?" The mouse to
the cat.
"I can't help it" said the cat with a wail.
"Everything that I meet, when I walk down the
street, just ends up stuck fast to my tail."
The cat and the mouse, he met outside the
house, saw an owl on a branch in the tree.
"Please Mr Owl," the cat sadly meowed,
"Why is this mouse sticking to me?"
The owl flew around landing close on the
ground. "Now let’s see if I have any luck."
He reached out a wing and touched the poor
thing and now found that he too was now stuck.

With the mouse and the owl stuck fast to its
tail, the cat wished it was back on its mat. It
noticed a pig in a big muddy pool and decided
to stop for a chat.
The pig asked the cat why his face looked so
sad, then it noticed the owl and the mouse.
So the pig left the pool and leading them all, it
took them towards a big house.
The pig sniffed at the cat “I wouldn’t do that”
said the owl with a twit and a twoo.
The mouse agreed with the owl, who was
stuck on the tail, it wasn’t the best thing to do.
Just like the mouse, that was outside the
house, and the owl that lived up in the tree,
the pig got too close to the tail of the cat,
and the two that were stuck became three.
