Two months have passed in the school year where children have come together to learn and grow. Every child has so much to bring to the classroom. Different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. 

This is Isabella. She just came from Brazil. She finds herself struggling to fit in at school because she doesn't speak "perfect" English, as she states various times during the week. 

My English just doesn't sound right!

This is Maceo. He loves talking and playing with his friends and using technology.   Maceo is always looking for ways to include Isabella. 

Hey Mace the Ace! Want to play some ball ?

Hey Jamal!  Yeah!  Isabella, want to play with us?

I will try.

Ms. Fine, also noticed how quiet and shy Isabella was in class and wanted to find a way to bring the class together.   She decided to announce a project that allowed students to work with a partner to create a presentation about their cultures and backgrounds.

Maceo was so excited about the project. He ran to Isabella, "Hey Isabella!  Do you want to work with me on the project?"   Isabella thought and thought.   "Y-Y-ess.  I will work with you."   They decided to make a PowerPoint with information about their cultures. 

Do you want to work with me, Isabella?

Yes, Maceo!  I would like that!

    Each day, Isabella and Maceo were hard at work, bringing interesting facts and items from their culture for the project.
