This was my home in New
Orleans,Louisiana. Everything was swell
but then the terrible weather ruined the
planning of my fifth birth day. Which
would also take away my life away from
my birthplace.

On August 28,2005, my family and I
were packing, and getting ready for
Ms.hurricane Katrina, and with me
only being 4 (soon to be 5) years old I
didn't understand what we were doing
or what was going on (I, personally,
just liked the bubble wrap). The next
thing I knew I was in the car with our
things and just... enjoying the ride.

My family and I were on our way to a
safe haven when Ms. hurricane Katrina caught
up to us. So we just pulled up into a closed
bank and waited till it would calm down... but
it didn't. So my mother just thought it was best
to go to the shelter to be safe but after a few
days my WHOLE family and I went back to
our flooded house. When we cleaned up the
mess (well tried) we slept in my mom's room
and tried to make the best of it. However, a
couple of days later my mother finally decided
it was time to move. the question was where to?

When my mother decided to move all the
grownups were on board. My uncle and
aunt had already gone to Texas and were
living in Pasadena. So we thought it would
be a wonderful idea to go to Texas for one
because some of our family is there, and
two it was close by (6 hours). The next day
my mother and father were looking for
houses in Texas and found the blessing
they were looking for. So we took all of our
things (again) and took on the adventure to
find our new home in Pasadena, Texas.

This is the house that my family and
I live in to this day. This house was and
is still our blessing. Even though, i
sometimes wonder what if Ms.
hurricane Katrina didn't hit I would be
in Louisiana right now probably going
to the high school my sister went to, I
would have a different best friend, and
i wouldn't have Mrs. Lambert as my AP
Human Geography teacher.

1. Pull factor- My father was able to find a job
that pays more money than it did in Louisiana.
2. Pull factor- All though we loved our house
back in Louisiana, we loved the better housing
opportunity that we had in Pasadena, Texas.
3. Push factor- The main push factor was due
to Ms. hurricane Katrina, damaging our home,
and giving tragic results to the land of
Louisiana.
