Drop is about to experience many stages of life. We will discuss his life as he goes through evaporation, condensation, precipitation, transpiration, run off, solar radiation, and ground water.

EVAPORATION

Evaporation is when water is converted into a vapor. This phase change is liquid to gas. Water escapes from the surface. This occurs due to heat breaking down water molecules, causing it to shift from water to gas. 

Condensation    

Condensation is when water vapor becomes liquid.  This can happen a couple of ways. 

If the air is cooled to its dew point, or it becomes saturated with water vapor that it cannot hold anymore water.

Condensation typically happens when there is a large difference in temperature between the object and the atmosphere.

Precipitation    

Precipitation is when water falls down to the surface. This can be liquid or solid.
