Once upon a time there was an endless forest where every animal in the world lived in peace and harmony. In this forest there was a beaver and this beaver had big aspirations. The beaver wanted to build the biggest dam in the world so one day he went into the forest to gather some wood.

He cut down many trees and on his way back to his dam he ran into some chipmunks. The chipmunks asked him, “What are you doing cutting down all these trees?” The beaver replied, “I need all these trees to make the biggest dam in the world!” The chipmunks looked at him and asked, “Where will we get food with all these trees gone?” “Doesn’t matter to me.” said the beaver and he left them to go back to his dam.

The next day the beaver went back into the forest to gather more trees for his dam. He cut down hundreds of trees in a single day and on his way back to his dam he ran into some birds. The birds asked him why he was cutting all these trees down and he gave the same response he had given to the chipmunks. “So where will we live?” asked the birds. And again the beaver gave the same response he had given to the chipmunks. “Doesn’t matter to me.” said the beaver and he went home to his dam.

The day after that he went into the forest and noticed that there seemed to be fewer trees on his way there but he brushed it off. After working the whole day and cutting down thousands of trees he made his way back to his dam and ran into a moose. The moose asked him, “Doesn’t it feel hotter than usual to you?” “Not to me.” said the beaver and he kept walking back to his home. The moose called after him, “What are you doing with all those trees?” But the beaver didn’t respond to the moose and kept walking to his dam.

The next day the beaver woke up and began to walk to the forest to cut down more trees. After a while of walking the beaver looked around, “Where are all the trees?” said the beaver. The air seemed thicker and the sun seemed brighter than usual. He tried looking around for anyone that could tell him what happened but he couldn’t find anyone. All that was left was the beaver and an empty expanse that completely surrounded him.
