It all started in Egypt. A young girl named Celia was thinking about sewing a beautiful quilt. She was very fast if she had a needle and some thread (with possibly some cloth.) She also liked to put a spin on things using buttons.
Celia took inspiration from quilts with patterns on them. Then, one day she had an idea. She was going to make a quilt with a person sewed on it, but instead of regular eyes it will have button eyes. She got straight to work on it, and it was finished in seven days, thirty-four minutes, and seven seconds. She decided to sell it, to see if anyone would want it.
As she was trying to sell it, a mysterious man came over and asked her a question, "Would you ever sew buttons on your eyes?" When Celia got home she thought about the man's question, "Would you ever sew buttons on your eyes?" She didn't really know. Would she sew buttons on her eyes??? She did like buttons. But not that much. Right?
She pondered the thought day and night, when finally she thought "No. I can't. I can't sew buttons on my eyes, and furthermore, I won't be able to see." Even after she told herself this. She still thought about the question. Not about if she didn't sew buttons on her eyes, but if she did. The next day she went to the market to buy fresh fruit. She was entering the store, when a man grabbed her from behind and pulled her into an alleyway. "Don't scream. You'll just make it worse." Celia didn't believe the man, but she shut her mouth because of the needle and two buttons he held in his hand.
