Computer Network Media
Network media refers to the communication channels used to connect nodes on a computer network. Common examples of network media include copper coaxial cable, copper twisted pair cable and fiber optic cable used in wired networks, and radio waves used in wireless data communications networks.

Computer Network Topology
Network topology is the physical and logical arrangement of nodes and connections in a network. Nodes typically include devices such as switches, routers and software with switch and router features. Network topology is often represented as a graph.

Types of Computer Network
1. Personal Area Network (PAN) is a network used on a personal level which uses wireless technologies like bluetooth, infrared, and NFC. It can also connect by USB cable.
2. Local Area Network (LAN) is a group of devices that are located in the same building that are in close proximity to each other. The most common type is Ethernet Lan.
3. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) uses wireless communication instead of wired communication.
Types of Computer Network
4. Campus Area Network (CAN) is a network that joins 2 or more LANS together within a limited area.
5. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is larger than a CAN and spans over several buildings in a town or city.
6. Storage Area Network (SAN) is a special high speed network that stores and provides access to large amounts of data.
7. Wide Area Network (WAN) is the largest type of network which spans over a large geographical area. An example of WAN is the internet.
Computer Network Transmission Media
1. There are two types of twisted-pair cables which are shielded twisted-pair cables and unshielded twisted-pair cables. The advantages of twisted-pair cables is that they're cheaper, flexible, and lightweight and easy to install.
2. A coaxial cable is an insulated copper cable used to carry high frequency data signals. The advantages is that they transmit data faster, less prone to noise, and they control multiple frequencies.
3. Fiber optic cables can pass light at high quality to carry light signals to send and receive a wide range of data frequencies. The advantages is that they can minimize sparking risk and provides high bandwidth over a long distance.
A WiFi connection transmits data via wireless signals, while an Ethernet connection transmits data over cable.

Ethernet & WIFI
A host is any hardware device that has the capability of permitting access to a network via a user interface, specialized software, network address, protocol stack, or any other means
