The Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 states that the colonists
can't settle westward of the Appalachian Mountains.
This angered the colonists even more than it would've
because this was right after the French & Indian War,
where they risked their lives to earn that land and
now they can't live there. This was one of the many
causes of the American Revolution.

The Stamp Act
After The French & Indian
War, England was low on
money. So, the Parliament
came up with the "great"
idea of the Stamp Act.
Which taxed every paper
with ink, requiring the
colonists to buy a stamp
to seal their paper
products. This infuriated
the colonists causing
boycotts, protests, and
secret societies until the
King repealed the act.

Quartering Act
Now that the Stamp Act was
repealed the King needed a way
to bring down the law on the
colonists. which meant he
wanted soldiers in every house of
the colonists. He passed the
Quartering Act. If you were a
colonist you would have to care
for this soldier in your house.
How would that make you feel?
You can imagine that the
colonists were beginning to get
the feeling of revolt.

The Townshend Act
Now that the Quartering act was in place King
needed more soldiers, but couldn't pay fro the
them. So he Passed the Townshend Act which
put a tax on everything imported and everyday
items including tea to raise military funds. This
only lead to more boycotts and people making
their own items. This time resorting to violence
on officials tax collectors and soldiers.

Tea Act & Tea Party
The Act was passed to make a monopoly on
the tea. While the prices on tea were very
much lower the colonists were still mad and
refused to buy the tea. There was then a group
that came up called the Sons of Liberty. They
then came up with the idea of the Tea Party.
Were the colonists dressed up like Natives and
took over the cargo ships. They dumped out all
the tea bags in the crates into the ocean.

The Boston Massacre
The boston massacre was little more than a
skirmish between guards and the town folk of
Boston, although five people still died. Words
and fists were exchanged. The towns people
had clubs and ice balls the guards had rifles
and bayonets. Shots were fired and the guards
were put on trial. The Sons of Liberty went at it
again and used propaganda and newspaper to
call this the Boston Massacre. They then sent
all of that to the colonists. Were they knew
that something had to be done.

Thank You
This is not an exhausted list of causes.
