Eminem walked back to the mobile court, returning to his mother's mobile home. Upon arrival, he was surprised to see his daughter there. "What's she doing here?" he wondered. His mother explained, "Your old girlfriend couldn't take care of her in her tiny apartment. You have to take care of her." Eminem agreed, "Fine, but you're taking over when I leave." As he prepared to leave, rap battles commenced outside. Confronted by Tha Free World challenging him to a mini rap battle, Eminem retorted, "I'm already better than you, Papa Doc." Unfazed, Eminem then proceeded to the rap battles, ignoring the challenge.
Eminem arrived at the venue for rap battles only to discover they had been replaced with a competition to write a song that isn't meant to be sung. Considering performing his own song due to the substantial prize of $100,000, he learned of the massive audience of 10,000 people and decided to return home. There, he found his mother in bed, pondering the future of her child. Unable to locate the child initially, he spotted them outside with Tha Free World attempting an abduction. Eminem intervened, rescued the child, and was then compelled to confront Papa Doc. Amidst the chaos, Future sided with Eminem while Wink attempted to engage him in a fight.
As Wink charged, Future knocked him out, sparking a fight followed by a mini rap battle. Eminem started off, lost, and went home with Tha Free World mocking him. Sol George shoved Papa Doc, and Cheddar Bob's laughed. Returning to his mobile home, Eminem found a mailbox full of fines, wondering about their origin. His mother, trying to soften the blow, informed him they needed to pay all the fines or risk the government seizing their furniture and home. "Like in Happy Gilmore?" Eminem asked. "Yes," his mother confirmed, laughing until Eminem's smile faded at the thought of owing $110,000. But he only had
$15,000 but he was thinking on what he will have to do but after a few minutes he said he wanted to do the Competition
In the midst of a rap competition, he retreated indoors to perfect his new piece titled "8 Mile." After a focused 30-minute session, a knock at the door interrupted him. His daughter by his side, they greeted DJ Iz and Future. "We're here to help you become the next 2Pac. It's time to practice for the competition," they insisted. Eminem, having just finished a practice run, was reluctant, but DJ Iz was firm: "No, you need to practice more." With a nod to the mantra "No mercy," they encouraged him to pour his heart into his lyrics. "Which verse are you on?" Future inquired. "The second," Eminem replied. With renewed vigor, he completed the song in 45 minutes and dashed to the tryouts. The competitors looked formidable, but when his turn came, he stepped up to the mic.
"Sometimes I feel like quitting, I might still do it. Why do I put up this fight? Why do I still write?" Eminem rapped these lines, and after finishing, he entered the tournament. He proceeded to Pika Lastar and Tomorrow for the Round of 16 at 6:30. Tha Free World discovered Eminem's participation in the competition and attempted to psych him out, but to no avail. As the clock struck 6:30, Eminem felt a surge of nerves, more intense than any he experienced in the chilly, breezy bathroom during past rap battles. The crowd began chanting, "Come on! Come on! Come on!" Just then, he noticed Tha Free World making a choking gesture at him. Eminem stepped out and showed them all.
