Can you guess who I am?
Have you ever been to the small, remote island
located in the southwest of Tutuila? It is an island
of magnificent sights, and a place where cruise
ships stop on their way to Tutuila, American
Samoa.
Sina and Tigilau
Legends tells of a couple who long ago, traveled
from Fiji to Manu'a. During their trip, a storm
forced them to take shelter on my north shore.
Days passed and there was no change in the
weather so they decided it was best to stay on this
island. They eventually turned to stone, and these
are the rock formations called, Sina and Tigilau.

We sure do go to church every sunday. Some
people go to the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints,the Congregational
Christian Church and the Assembly of God.

A.P Lutali Elementary School
A very special school is located on my eastern shore.
There are four school buildings with a monument in the
front. The monument displays the name of the school,
Aifili Paulo Lutali, one of American Samoa's first
gorvernors and one of the first islanders to hold such a
high position. There are 103 students that attend A.P
Lutali Elementary School. While much of the school
needs repair after years of bad weather, it stands
proudly year after year in its remote location.

Quicksand
Another interesting landmark can be found on
my northern part. It appears to be a covering
of white sand but be careful. Tall dark trees
surround it and black birds rest on their
branches. Don't step onto the white sand
because once you do, it will be your home
forever. What appears to be sand is heartless
and selfish and will swallow you up. It is
known as Quicksand.
