Chapter 1
In a sunny jungle, there lived two best friends: Millie the Mouse and Gerry the Giraffe. They were pretty much complete opposites. Millie was small and brown, with a pink twitchy nose and tiny paws. Gerry was tall and golden, with a long neck and legs that went on forever.
Even though they were so different, they loved hanging out together. Millie liked sitting on top of Gerry’s head, where she felt like the tallest mouse in the whole world. And Gerry liked having Millie around because she was funny, adventurous, and could find cool things on the ground that Gerry couldn't even see.

Chapter 2
One morning, Millie was especially excited. She had discovered a hidden patch of wild strawberries under a bunch of big, leafy bushes.
“Gerry!” she squeaked, her eyes sparkling. “You have to come with me! I found the yummiest strawberries ever!”
Gerry smiled. “Sounds amazing, Millie! Let’s go!”
They trotted off together, Millie leading the way. When they got to the bushes, Millie squeezed under the leaves easily and popped back out, holding a juicy red strawberry in her paws.

Chapter 3
“Come on, try one!” she said.
Gerry bent his long neck down and tried to follow her under the leaves. He tilted his head one way, then the other, but no matter how hard he tried, his neck just wouldn’t fit. He felt awkward and clumsy.
“Umm, Millie,” Gerry said softly, “I can’t reach the strawberries. I’m just too big.”
Millie frowned. Her nose twitched. “Why do you have to be so tall, Gerry? You can never do things down here with me!”
Gerry’s eyes widened. “I’m sorry, Millie. I didn’t mean to—”
But before he could finish, Millie’s ears flattened. “You just don’t understand!” she snapped. Then she turned around and ran off into the bushes, leaving Gerry behind.

Suddenly, she felt sad. Maybe I was too hard on him.
Just then, she realized the sun was starting to set. It was getting dark, and she decided to head home. But when she got to the path, she froze. A big, heavy branch had fallen right in her way! It was too big for her to climb over and way too heavy to push.
“Oh no!” Millie squeaked. “Now I’m stuck!”
Her tiny heart pounded. What if she couldn’t get home before dark?
