Argentina is the second largest
country in south America, and it
is the eighth largest country in
the world by land. It is located in
the southern part of south
America. The countries that
border Argentina are Brazil,
Bolivia, Chile, and Paraguay.


Brazil is the largest country in
South America and the fifth
largest in the world. Brazil
borders all the countries in South
America except for Chile and
Ecuador. It is well known for its
dense forests, including the
Amazon, the world's largest
Jungle.


Chile looks like a long thin line
down the side of Argentina, like a
ribbon down the west coast of
South America. The bordering
countries are Bolivia, Peru, and
Argentina. In the north is the
driest place on earth, the Atacama
Desert.

Duitama located in Colombia and is
known for its workshops in
producing everything from fine
shawls and baskets to furniture.
Duitama is surrounded by four hills
that can be seen from the city.



Ecuador
Ecuador, named for its location on
the equator, is bordered by
Colombia, and Peru. Large cliffs and
ridges are found closer to the
border of Peru, while volcanoes are
scattered across the country.
Ecuador often fall victim to floods,
earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and
droughts.

French Guiana lies in the
northern part of South
America north of Brazil. It has
some of the worlds most
varying plants and animal
life. French Guiana is one of
South America's wealthiest
countries.


GuatemalaGg
Guatemala is the size of
Tennessee. Its neighbors
are Mexico, Belize,
Honduras, and El Salvador.
The country has three main
regions—the cool highlands
with the heaviest population,
the tropical area along the
Pacific and Caribbean
coasts, and the tropical
jungle in the northern
lowlands.


HondurasHh
Most of Honduras is
mountainous with
peaks that rise to more
than 8,000 feet. the
foothills are covered by
oak and pine forests.
About 60 percent of
Hondurans live in small,
scattered highland
communities.


Galapagos
Islands Ii
The Galapagos
Islands are made
up of thirteen
volcanic islands
and rocks and
reefs. Rocks
covers the shores
but dense forests
covers the inland
mountains.

Jalapa is located in the
southern part part of
Guatemala. For some the
name Jalapa means
“sandy places”, for others
“sand and bread”. The
name certainly refers to
the magnificent
mountains and beautiful
valleys.

Kourou, is mainly
known for being the
location of the Space
Center of French
Guiana.


Lima Ll
Lima is located in Peru. Although it's
built in a desert, Lima is known as
the "Garden City" and is home to one
of the world's largest fountain parks.
Lima natives, known as "Limeños"
are obsessed with food. the city's
annual food festival, held each
September, is possibly the most
important event of the year.

The highest mountain
in South America is
Aconcagua in
Argentina. It is 22,834
feet tall and 6960
meters.


Nicaragua Nn
Nicaragua borders both the
Caribbean Sea and the North
Pacific Ocean, between Costa
Rica and Honduras.
Nicaragua is mountainous in
the west, with fertile valleys.
The Pacific coast is volcanic
and very fertile. The swampy
Caribbean coast is called the
“Mosquito Coast.”

South America is bordered
to the west by the Pacific
Ocean, to the north and the
east by the Atlantic Ocean


Peru Pp
Peru is South America's third
largest country. its bordered
by Ecuador, Colombia,
Brazil, and Bolivia.The
southern part of Peru
supports iron ore mining,
while the northern part
supports oil fields.


Quillota Qq
Quillota is a city located in the
Aconcagua River Valley. The
city is agriculturally important
because of its plantations of
avocado and custard apple
trees.
