Good morning, class! Today, we are going to learn about the five senses. Can anyone name one of the five senses? We have sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell.

WHAT ARE THE FIVE SENSES???
The five senses help us explore the world around us. They allow us to experience everything! Why do you think our senses are important? They help us understand our
environment.

Let’s start with the sense of sight. What do we use our eyes for? We use our eyes to see things around us. What are some things you can see right now? You might see your friends, the board, colored pencils...
SIGHT

HEARING

Next is the sense of hearing. What do we use our ears for? We use our ears to hear sounds. What sounds can you hear right now? Maybe you hear someone talking or the sound of the clock

Let’s talk about the sense of taste. What do we use our tongues for? We use our tongues to taste food. Can anyone name food that you love to eat? There are sweet, salty, sour and bitter tastes
TASTE

TOUCH

The next sense is touch. What do we use our skin for? We use our skin to feel things. What can you touch right now? Maybe the floor, the chair, or your own hands. How does it feel? Is it hard, soft, warm, or cold?

SMELL

Finally, we have the sense of smell. What do we use our noses for? We use our noses to smell different scents. Can anyone tell me a smell that you like? Smells can be sweet, sour, or stinky

HOW OUR SENSES WORK TOGETHER?
Our senses often work together. When you eat, you use your taste and smell. Have you ever noticed how food smells before you eat it? When you walk on the sand, your senses of touch and hearing work together; you feel the texture of the sand under your feet and hear the sound of the waves, etc.
