Writing Project #3

Ms. Franky was the fifth-grade science teacher at Harbor Elementary school.



Science was a very important subject to these fifth-grade students. They heard Ms. Franky was an amazing science teacher and had lots of cool science projects.



In the first quarter of the school year the students were studying different types of plants and their lifecycles.



As the students continued their learning about plants, they were going to start an exciting project.

The students also learned the essentials that plants need to thrive. Finally, as the quarter was winding down, Ms. Franky gave the whole class the same project that was due right before winter break.


This confused the class. "Why would this project be due in over a month" said of of the students. But, Ms. Franky explained to the students that they will be growing their own plants. The project will be due right before winter break so Ms. Franky could see their understanding of how to take care of plants and their lifecycles.


Ms. Franky reminded every student that this was a huge part of their final grade. And that plants need two ESSENTIAL parts to thrive. Sun and water.



So that same day the entire class planted their plants into their flower pots with soil, seeds, and water. And all of the students took their plants home that day.



Some students were very eager and exited about this project, while other students thought it was going to be a piece of cake and an easy A.
