A beautiful young girl was born July 26,2001

Her parents Karen Roth and Steven Ward named

her Kesslyn Elizabeth Ward. She was born 7:42 

in the morning at Danbury Hospital. All of her 

family came up to see Kesslyn being born. 

When I was 4 I learned how to swim. I was at 

Candlewood isle beach in the shallow end. I 

was scared at first but it wasn't that bad once 

I got   in the water. I will always remember 

the first time I learned to swim. 

I was 8 years old when I went to my first 

football game. Giants vs Cardinals. We tail 

gated before the game and had lots of food. I 

even got to meet some of the players before 

the game because my cousin; Tim Hightower 

played on the Cardinals.  

Third grade, I was 8 years old and I played my 

first Basketball game. I was on the pink team. 

I made my first basket during the first game of 

the season, I was so proud. I had many of my 

friends on my team.

In third grade I joined the Wilton Wahoos. My 

first coach was Derek Farrar and Mark 

Newcomb. I was on Bronz, the lowest group. I 

made a ton of new friends 

I was 10 years old when I first made top 16. 

Top 16 was a banquet that the top 16 

swimmer in each event in each age group go 

to.   I made it in the 500 free, 200 im, 200 

free,and 100 back. They had all sorts of food 

there, green beans, mash potatoes. The food 

was terrific.

I was 11 years old when my family and I went 

to Australia. We went to Melbourne for ten 

days and then Cairns for 6 days. Melbourne 

was freezing but was a cool city. Cairns was 

beautiful and the ocean was crystal blue.  

I was 12 years old when I first broke the 

minute in the 100 free. I was at the Wilton 

January Invitational and the competition was 

hard.My friends and I made a bet with my 

coach that if we all break a minute at finals 

that we could paint his finger nails. I touched 

at the wall and the clock said 59.99,one 

millisecond under a minute!

It was my 15th birthday and I'm at a swim 

meet. I am in Y-Nats in fort lauderdale. Its day 

three and I am swimming the 400 Im, 200 fly, 

and 500 free at finals today and I'm so 

pumped. When I get back, I heard that the 

team is gonna go to Hibachi for my birthday.
