someone who lives on the American Subcontinent, studies/works in the American Subcontinent while believing in equal opportunities for everyone.

Once upon a time, in a little town filled with people from all over the world, there lived a curious boy named Sam. Sam loved asking questions about everything. One day, while walking home from school, he stopped by his neighbor’s yard where Miss Rosa was planting flowers.

“Being an American means living here, working or studying here, and believing in equal opportunities for everyone. Let me show you with some stories from history.”
He asked her...
“Miss Rosa, what does it mean to be an American?”

They walked to Mr. Smith's Bakery
When they arrived...

Hey Ms. Rosa and Sam how are you guys?
We are doing good, I was just explain Sam what being American means.
“Oh Sam! Let me give you an example. An American means believing in freedom. The Emancipation Proclamation freed enslaved people, showing that everyone deserves equality. Here, Sam, have a cupcake to share the joy of freedom!”

Wow, I did not know that thank you Mr. Smith!
After, Sam and Ms. Rosa started to walk to Mrs. Johnson's store to pick up some groceries for Ms. Rosa.

After getting there they met with Mrs. Johnson and told her about what Sam was curious about...

"An American means fighting for equal rights, at the Seneca Falls Convention, brave women demanded the right to vote. They showed that everyone deserves a fair chance, just like every item in this store has its place."

Sam felt like he was starting to understand a bit more...

Really? That's very interesting, thank you for your time Mrs. Johnson!
Anytime!
He wondered for more information on this topic and surely, he got that information as they visited Coach McBride's soccer camp.
