Molly and her friend Emily are creative and smart 5th graders on a field trip in the Taiga with Professor Smith ( their science teacher). They are getting ready to go explore the fascinating biome .
¨Let's go tubing ¨, exclaimed Molly.
¨We better dress up. I am already cold from just being outside for a second ¨, said Emily.
¨Look there is a perfect mountain side to go tubing¨, replied Molly.
The girls ran up the mountain as if a bear was chasing after them . Once they got a quarter way up the mountain they already felt tired , but the girls had remembered how fun tubing was last time they had gone. They had gotten almost to the top of the smaller mountain peak, right next to the big one and once they were there they could see almost everything. They saw views that they didn't see before.
¨Look at the amazing view¨said Professor Smith.
¨There is probably even a better view over from the bigger mountain but the big mountain is really rocky and we could trip on the rocks and get hurt!!¨said Emily , ¨I don't wanna waste time¨
¨Did you know that tubing was invented in the early 1700s ?¨, said Emily
¨I love to go tubing. It is my favorite winter sport¨, added Molly.
“Oh look, itś starting to snow , " said Profesor Smith.
While the professor and the two girls were tubing down the mountain , they enjoyed it more and more each time.
The girls had been tubing for a while now, then suddenly they started to notice something happening with the birds flying above an area on the high peak.¨Why are they making all that sound?¨, asked Molly.
¨Itś a bird calling¨, Emily answered ¨I think something is happening ¨
¨Did you know that birds are great communicators?,¨ questioned Emily.
The girls and the professor decide to go check what is happening.
¨Do we really have to climb the big mountain ?¨, questioned Molly.¨that mountain is way bigger and will take us a while to climb¨
¨YES, but we have all day so there is no rush¨answered Emily.
¨Oh come on, the climb up the mountain will take as long as a snail going up a hill¨said Molly.
The girls finally made it to the top of the mountain.and saw all the birds but still couldn't tell what was happening .
¨What is happening ¨? , questioned Emily
¨It looks like there clearing up to show us what is going on¨said Professor Smith
When the girls saw what happened they got startled..
¨Oh no!!¨ ,said Molly¨ it looks like a baby falcon fell out of its nest and got its wing stuck in the rock gap¨.
¨We will need to work fast to help free it and make sure that the bird can get out safely¨, added Professor Smith.
While the girls were trying to figure out what to do the birds were staring at them with a face no one could resist.

The girls started panicking. They saw how hurt the bird was but did not know how to help it.
¨We need to do something¨, Worriedly said Professor Smith.
¨Well what could we do ¨, said Molly.
¨We need to look around for a big stick to help roll the big rock a different way¨ ,told Emily.
¨I see one over there ¨,said Molly. The girls tried their best to move all the birds that were on top of the large branch , but the birds would not move.
¨We have to move them away ¨, said Emily.
¨We should shake the branch¨, replied Emily.
¨Yay we got the branch. I am glad you thought of that idea!!¨, added Molly.
¨What is that sound¨, questioned Molly.
¨Oh no it looks like the branch broke¨, answered Emily.
While the girls were busy trying to find a new branch they realized that the baby falcons wing was starting to tear even more and that the wing was starting to bleed very badly.
¨Oh no look at the bird girls, we need to do something fast. We do not know how much more this bird can take¨said Professor Smith.
¨What's that shaking I am feeling? ¨questioned Molly.
¨Did you know that some mountains grow taller each year?,¨also questioned Emily.
¨ I think the rocks are moving and are getting closer as if a big monster was shaking the mountain.Thump Thump THump the mountain started to shake more and more.
